To be honest, 7.45:1 and 14 degrees at 7000 rpm is about right with 2bar of boost actually, would normally be around 9 in the midrange for that compression and of course it should go up with RPM to the mid teens as the engines VE drops off.
Not sure why you say you need the car to see inj dur though Danny, the ECU decides injector duration and the correct Pectel software tells you precisely what it will be at any given point and air temperature as long as you know how to use it, as Tony clearly does.
Dont know what this "mismot" software ius you use, but it doesnt sound good if you cant tell what the map is going to output to the engine?

My point about the inj duty is that just because the ecu tells you how much fuel the inj are using this doesnt tell you your actual duty cycle live as how do you know what fuel pressure the car was actually set at??

Ps..we managed to modify a few of your chips stu..ask mattman with the kit car,one of your customers?he was one i can think of..

Mistaken here are the figures off the Dyno The boost @ 4k - 0.4 @ 4.5k - 0.65 @ 5k - 1.4. The lambda @ 4k - 0.84 @ 4.5k - 0.82 and @ 5k - 0.8 ... The software is tdr iems .. Steves Msd chip was never modded or tried to as he wanted to keep it .. Yes Msd chips have been modded .. The fact remains with Steves engine cr etc at the spark advance it was set to would not has caused det .

Ps jay everyone has close files to start with its a base to map with ... The iems rights are actually owned buy Ahmed ! If your live mapping it does not matter who or what you start with so long as the end result is safe and correct

Ah, the old Terry Drury Racing hacked software. That actually DOES tell you the injector duration, but its speed density so of course you need to look at the changing breakpoints as the density alters to ensure its correct at the temperature your looking at. Mind you, it can only correctly read weber firmware as anyone who can alter the map sensor calibration at foirmware level does so in a place trhat software cant read so it always shows as a 2 bar file. Always confuses idiots that one. LOL
What emulator have you hooked it into in order to work live?

But Steve it's just been highlighted that the chip did not " fuck " your engine !!! Also I have just spoken to Luke who said he can not remember but seems to think you took your Msd chip away with you , he also said why would he have gone away to make a tweak when his laptop and emulator was in your car ! ... You are speculating and moving away from the real point which is Did the spark advance cause the det ..... Answer is probably not !!!

Could you describe the exact prosess he went through and how you identified this as a failed attempt to use the Msd chip as a base ? And of course if you can understand and describe this maybe you can map a car ?

No, its what I would expect to happen unless it was emulated for live mapping in which case it would be fine while tweaking, until you tried to restart the car on the modified and saved version of my file and the CRC check failed, as this is only checked at startup.

After many attempts at altering the msd chip and trying to start my car and failing he got out the car walked upstairs got another chip and proceeded to map my car, now as I'm only a dick head of a kitchen fitter i took that as a failure to alter a msd chip, and then when it wouldnt make anymore boost than the msd map and much head scratching he drilled out the union on the air injector and hey presto booooooooooooooooost, which was prob what was needed for the msd chip to make the power it should of

Maybe you should think about what you are saying before you post it as now you are arguing with a previous customer on a public forum telling him that he should have specialist knowledge of exactly how a car should be mapped moonstone as I have no clue how it is done and what should be the correct process all he knows is that he brought the car to you in good faith expecting a quality job to be done If he could map it himself he may have saved himself the cost of a engine rebuild !
