Default Infinite Scroll & Related Threads

We are launching a new, simpler way to read PassionFord: Infinite Scroll.

Instead of needing to click "Next" in a thread to read additional pages, you will see a layout that automatically loads the next page of a thread as you scroll. We've also updated a few other parts of the layout so they remain easily accessible while you read, including access to thread search, a button to jump to the first unread post, and a Quick Reply box that lets you type a reply while scrolling through the thread content.

We're happy to answer any questions you may have about the new functionality of the site. If you would like to keep the standard thread view with separate pages, or simply want to remove related threads, head to the User CP > Edit Options page and simply disable “Infinite Scroll” or “Related Threads.”

**For users using the mobile template on their phones, I would like to add that the User CP option to disable infinite scroll and related threads does NOT apply to the mobile template.

You can always opt out of infinite scroll if it isn't an experience you enjoy.

When using the garage talk app, every page I go to, the whole screen is highlighted in blue, it is quite annoying having to tap on every screen to unhighlight everything, especially when looking at pictures. Is there a way to fix this?

Go into the settings and turn off infinite scroll...it will be the cause of almost all problems. There are no positives to it at all.

The only way that I know how is to uninstall and reinstall the app if you're absolutely insistent on using it.

We don't really support Garage Talk anymore. It exists but our plan is to have everybody migrate into the mobile template. We're working on making it a "web app" so you can receive PM notifications through the browser, which has largely been the largest complaint between the mobile template and the app (lack of notifications). The mobile template has seen multiple improvements and revisions (the latest will be rolling out soon here on PF) to have the same functionality as the desktop template in a mobile friendly format.

Infinite scroll, who dreamt up that shit idea, you look at a thread, you scroll down the page viewing the comments/post, then if the thread has pictures they start to open and you find yourself on a different part of the thread , or a different. page or in some cases a different associated thread, I can honestly say that in the 14+ years of using and viewing this forum it is the worst feature I have experienced.
