I wonder if they need some sort of load resistor in there then. I will look in to it and let you know.

I forgot I had these, I found them when clearing out the loft on my workshop today so will see if they will go on the front or rear of the car. I am having a latching handbrake so will not need a cable.
It has always annoyed me that when working near the sump I would always scratch my arm where someone had just cut off the unused speedo cable and left strands, the plastic gear just spun in the housing so today I made a plug / bung on the lathe.
Oil seal with grove for the pin
Tapped it for m10 and threadlocked in a titanium bolt.

Mark has cut out all of the stuff he didn’t like ready to put in all new. The old setup had the exhaust swap sides on the car by humping over the gearbox bellhousing, this always gave ride height issues as at 3.5 inch diameter plus some air gap over the box it needed a lot of room, I have asked Mark to send the pipe straight up the car by raising the floor a bit as it then doesn’t need to cross the gearbox and it will jump over the cradle if needed as I don’t mind the boot floor being amended.
Here is a pic of the billet floor mounted pedal box, I am going to try the car without servo again as this is a better version. We have explored remote servos but prefer not to if we can get the feel right.
Thanks, I am going to make Mark earn his money and spec the masters to suit the calipers. I use car builder solutions quite a lot, they are very good.

I have now got the lightweight carbon kevlar panels, they look really good and I am hopeful that the fit and finish will be as close as possible to the standard panels (which were not brilliant straight out of France) I need to trial fit the windows and locking mechs before having them prepped and painted, I will get some pics up soon.
I also have a mould taken from the original T16 roof spolier on the way to try

Me either, my carbon roof spoiler also turned up but not keen on the mounts.

Went to Howletts zoo, the keepers whizz around on these old milk floats, the whirring sound took me back a bit.
Trial fitted the carbon roof spoiler to my grey gti, it will go higher when I remove the little spoiler, obviously this would be for the red car. I have a big t16 spoiler on the way to compare.

I like that spoiler mate. Love old milk floats, we got given 2 by a local milk company at the garage I used to work at the get up and running for the local town carnival, was great fun driving one up and down the road once we had charged the battery's! After the carnival my boss donated them to the local garden centre which is charity run.

Thanks, I think if I had a business with a use for one then I would get a milk float.

I test fitted the windows today, pleased with the results.
You can see the wing mirror in this pic
You can see the weave on the inside
I had to turn up some alloy sleeves to help locate the wing mirror, I will add an alloy sandwich plate as the Kevlar is pretty thin there, I am hoping to do away with the internal adjusters as I never move them.

I am going to try fitting the original window rubbers on the inside to see if they hide the untidy line of the window, you have to make some allowances with the aftermarket lightweight stuff although the carbon bonnet is very good but so it should be at Ł1200.
I will get some carbon inner door trims from Spoox once I have all the door furniture in.

T16 spoiler arrived today, looks awesome in my opinion but will take a lot of work to make it look right.
T45 lightweight cradle to Marks design getting measured up so the cage can locate on the mounting points, this will take the supra diff directly....I love the simplicity of it and saves a chunk of weight in this metal over the beam setup. (Cheaper alternatives are available, lol)

T16 spoiler taped to the grey pug
The sides will need a lot of work to look right on the 205 shell
I prefer the shape of this to the other but I think it will take a lot of fibreglass skill to pull it off well. The t16 rally car had struts bolted to the back to stop flex.
This bit needs a lot of work.

Carbon Kevlar bootlid saves 25kg, Lexan marguard window, my 205 panel will fit and lock etc all work as normal.
Whole bootlid held on 1 finger and outstretched arm

The drug dealer has been tempting me with some 7075 lightweight flanges, the 4 that hold the wheel studs, I had not heard of 7075 before and it was secretly developed by the Japanese years ago and is now used for the undercarriages of aircraft, it is very light and quite resistant to corrosion whilst being as strong as steel....we will see what we can get the cost down to.
I am working on the doors today and adding some ally bar behind the hinge points and check strap as I know these will break in a gust of wind if the door is left open if not.

love the picture of you holding up the boot lid..... then I saw the TT in the background and remembered hair dresser
Coming along well, love the look of the cradle for the diff and yes the new spoiler is definitely nicer looking than the earlier one you posted.

You leave my TT alone, I love that car.....I had 2 chaps pull up behind me at some traffic lights in a white transit, I had roof down, shades on and music on and I could almost lip read "look at that tosser" then a young 20’s blonde came jogging round the corner and their attention changed and they wound down their window, she slowed right down and shouted "hello toby", it was my daughters swimming instructor, you should have seen their faces....

Drivers door now with window and furniture fitted, these are silly light. I quite like it in white and keep thinking of having full white T16 with rally livery wrap but the car has always been known as Red.
Again, you can pick these up with one hand very easily
There is one bolt at the top that I had to put out of line as it stops the top bowing out, I might paint that black or counter sink it to lose it.

does look quite naughty with the livery etc in white.
I'll leave the TT alone (I do like the baseball interior which I think it had from memory) but we do need pictures of said 20yr old just to confirm

What are you going to do with this when its finished?
seems to be a massive project creating the fastest, lightest best handling car......for the road?
I hope you might want to compete in some form. Hill climbing would be a perfect match. Nothing on the road comes close to actually competing in some form of motorsport.
I hope it all comes together and is exactly what you want.

I used to do lots and lots of track days, often 20-30 per yr and not just in the UK. It will mainly be used as a road car just for fun but also hope to take it to Prescott hill climb, track days, and I want a crack at Santa Pod as always wanted to try and set some times.
I want to be able to do 0-100mph in under 7 seconds, that is the biggest goal for this car.
Not wanting to be the fastest as I would have stuck with the 710bhp spec on the stroker, I would prefer 500-600 and a very light and nimble car.

It depends what you are looking for out of a track day, I would say that setting and repeating a consistent lap is very challenging and I enjoy car control, we used to do a lot of wet handling stuff as we had an instructor with licence to use MiRA, he taught F1 drivers so we had a lot of use of that.
Nurburgring is VERY challenging just to get round a lap quickly and on public days you are rubbing doorhandles with the local ring nutter locals.

Also, you ought to try an RMA paddock club track day, you would then be racing in every sense. When we were at Donnington Martin Brundle turned up with a flipping F1 car, and we always had Trevor and Maurice Reeves (Trevor was World Rallycross Champion), Adrian Flux, Willie Green, Rocket Ron etc...
The slower cars at RMA days are GT3 911’s

I would like to do that, competition brings out a side of me I do not like, rally trackdays really appeal to me, I am very tempted to buy an Ariel Nomad with the proper suspension but I know on road it would only be good on sunny days...Rally Track days would bring it to life, I love the concept.

I like Anglesey, lots of ballsy corners. Rallycross would probably suit my car setup better.
