I have it all written down but I know it has arrow crank stroked 2.2 limered block. I can’t remember the pistons and rods. It has a Neil roper head, Newman cams to Harvey’s spec, uprated oil pump to Wrc system and breather, big wing sump. 10 long studs and oil squirt jets. It ran over 710bhp andI think it did 730 something on race fuel.

I have had some update pics of the floor and tunnel on the 205, I am over the moon with how they look. I am saving up a few pics for when the firewall / bulkhead is finished. (some pics are on facebook)
One thing that always annoyed me on the car (and Mark Shead was not too happy with it either) was that the exhaust used to snake under the gearbox bellhousing which then had a big flat section to clear the anti roll bar (later removed and that spooled up 250 rpm sooner) and this also caused it to hit speed bumps as it is 3" tucked under the gearbox, the exchaust then moved back across again to the drivers side which ran REALLY close to the prop...this had to be done as there was not enough room to simply come out of the downpipe and under the car....now Mark has raised that part of the floor by 3 inches so the pipe can have a simple route under the drivers seat and then will have a small hump like the WRC escorts over the rear cradle.
The seats before were raised up by around 2.5 inches or more on mounts so we should not run in to height issue in the car. I think there is likely to be seat mount strength under the floor though as opposed to in the cabin. I have not decided on runners or just seat set only for me...I think runners are most likely.

Mark has asked me to go up in around a week to set the seat height and spacing, I am hoping for not too long after that.

I think the Cossie lump would be hard work to get in the 944. Lol at the Hairdresser car....I am fitting powerflex top mounts today to that along with new boost pipes and then a few other little jobs.

The engine bay has always needed a tidy up so I asked Mark to weld up all the unnecessary holes,
They have been making panels to smooth the engine bay that match the floor, I want to make the engine bay as neat as I can get it. Should look nice once all seam sealed and painted.

I am excited by this pic, it shows the basic design of the bulkhead...it also makes the rain tray look really poor condition but Mark has plans for that.
What I really like is that you can easily get to all of the gearbox bellhousing to block bolts, before you had to scramble around and contort your arms using all different spanners. This will make a clutch or gearbox swap a cinch.
shapes on bulkhead match the floor.

I am confident it will be a great car, I always loved driving it but felt it needed a few things to make it right.
couple more pics
Bulkhead in metal, the space around the gearbox bellhousing will be folded back so the floor / tunnel will be welded to the return
The inside will have a panel so that I can bolt stuff to it without anything being bolted through the bulkhead.

What thickness is that is it braced underneath will it not flex or does the cage ect give it more strength

Floor is all braced, don’t think the bulkhead needs anything though

Love this rolled return around the bellhousing and the curve repeats the curve of the bead rolled shapes in bulkhead. The floor will weld to the lip so we don’t have a sharp edge.

Bara wondered if my bent selector fork was due to the oppliger short shift being too aggressive with no slop so he had advised me a while ago to fit a standard shifter but with steel bushes. I have stripped back the standard one and rust treated it and the given it a coat of por15. I added some lightness (holes) on the pillar drill.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Will it be painted/protected when you get it back or will you do it at home? Is it a straight forward assembly then or is there more to do?

Has anyone had a loop of steel fitted around the front prop so that if it breaks away from
the diff it stops the prop destroying the block or the gearbox?
