Sad times Ran but a sensible one as someone out there like Ade ^ may just be looking for this sort of project to get their teeth into as there is hardly an RSs about nowadays and his RS500 will be pounding the tarmac soon

Steve, i know but i wont get round to it for god knows how long and with the mileage im currently doing im thinking a normal diesel for everyday use would be better, hence letting either this or the saf go - and lets be honest the saf isnt getting sold ever so it leaves this

I may even just leave it where it is and just come back to it later - decisions decisions

Reckon your doing the right thing mate, in todays climate I would do the same at least you have the saph which is going to be sweet once completed so let someone else have some fun with the 3 door, Plus Ade is a mate if he twists your arm off

Hey I better Change my name lol it's a 909 shell I wish it was a 500, my dream. I was gonna try and help get it on the track when you was ready to get back to it mate. Or a sub as I sold my van last night. I reckon you should keep her they are getting rarer think what mk1 and 2 escort shells are worth now! I was looking forward to seeing it getting it's head kicked in round the track. I do know where you are coming from though your car mate, but I may buy some of your other bits if she has to go, I can't do another rebuild for a while now lol

Ade and Paul - i hear ya. Still trying to decide what to do. I defo would have loved to kick its head in round a track but that is two years away at least.

Reckon i might just forget about it for a while, as like you say they are getting rarer and rarer - also the bonus is that this has a nice bit of history too with your mate owning it and me bumping into the old reg plate, etc which i like lol.

Fuck it, im going to keep it now and will change the title on this thread Reckon the 3dr will be 30 years old by the time i finish it

Still gonna have a look at some nice modern diesels to run about in daily

Why not keep the saph as a twincam and just whack your cossie running gear in the 3dr like you originally intended?

Best of both worlds, you get to keep the saph but also have the 3dr as a toy?

Ok can we meet in the middle on deposit say Ł800 lol 500hp from a rs500 awesome mate you gotta take me for a drive in that when it's done! Who is mapping it for you ? I think put it in the saff and have fun till the 3 door Is ready.

Nice one Ran dirty diesel for winter saff for summer It doesn't matter how long the 3 door takes, your gonna be having fun in the saff anyway. Worst thing I ever did was sell my Mk1 Rs2000 wish it was tucked away somewhere to this day With your luck finding plates keep yours peeled for it lol LGF 334N

yeah, im gonna keep the 3dr and get round to it whenever i can - sort or REALLY long term project

Cant wait for the Saph to get done - its not far off now - pop pop bang bang!

I will kep an eye out for the mk1 mate - cant believe i spotted that plate - nearly crashed as i had to have about three looks to confirm

quick update as i have bought a donor J reg XR4i for the running gear as it has a 2.9 24V engine fitted. Gonna get the engine running in the donor and will then rip it apart s the heart can live in the 3dr - staying rwd too as 4x4 is

Ade500 has just fired up the donor sierra and the 24v sounds ace

gonna have to get it in the 3dr now and down to a trackday

Another update - following in Ade's footsteps i have gone and bought a new reg plate for the 3dr Sierra...

RAN 666S

Cant wait to get this on and park it next to Ade's black 3dr with his Ade reg plate lol
