I think the side strips have been off before as they are a bit rippled in places. I know exactly how much they are can't stand 3dr's without them as they look incomplete IMO.
Lewis - those badges will be removed and I know u are on a badge collecting spree

I think I have a yb engine lined up for it too.
Plans are now to hold off on a full respray as I need the car mobile in order to get to the bodyshop and my mates workshop as don't have a trailer. So will concentrate on getting it roadworthy mot'd and taxed and sort out any niggling issues with it first and then it will be pulled apart in the winter for any other resto work.
Anyone need a complete pinto engine?

Cossie wheels have sold to scoobypete off here for his 3dr project.
Gonna head down to the garage in an hour or so to get sump off the spare pinto engine
Parts update: I now have a 200 block Cossie engine waiting to go in. Just need to sort inlet, turbo, injectors and ecu

Defo need to get it washed but will call a valeter round to do it properly as I'm a lazy cunt
Oh and the front brakes are definitely coming off as I have some 330mm discs and Cossie 4 pots to go on.
Will try and get pics on the weekend

Beefy, I got rid of one pinto but have another which ideally needs a rebuild as it's been left to the elements. I was going to keep the block but could do with the space really.
Pm me what u want to offer for it and I can fire u some pics.
Update for the 3dr - engine has been bought so now just need a suitable turbo, inlet and ecu.

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
Decided to pull the 3dr out the garage and remove the rear shocks to check if they are useable for my saff.... unfortunately as suspected they are also fucked so dropped the car back down, just onto the springs and pushed it back in
A few pics of last nights progress... or lack of :-
Jacked up...
A quick view inside the car - looks bare
Shcok in the process of being removed...
Both shocks are screwed so the hunt for suitable replacements is on...
Dropped the car down with no shocks but with springs and one side is higher than the other what is causing this?
Can someone identify the diff in here? - ignore the dirt on it
Then i found RUST Not a lot luckily but no doubt there will be more
Passenger side rear chasis leg
Small patch required on the underneath of the boot floor - its easily repairable
Driver side rear chasis leg is fine
More in a few days

Glad to hear it's a 7.5" diff - will check if it's a LSD when it's in the air.
Yeah the rot isn't too bad - my moonstone genuine Cossie was worse than this.
Got a full set of konis for it, so will get the rear suspension in and get the prop off as it makes pushing the car in and out the garage a bloody mission.

Lewis im trying to sticky to my original budget of around 4k all in. If i paint the car that budget will be blown well out the water
So going to get a valeter round to clean it up, get the bits that need paint and put it together.
Not sure if the rear brakes are solid or vented so will check when im there next as need to put the konis in.

Interesting project. When you commented on my thread I thought you probably only have a mint genuine Cossie. I love mint Cossies but generally find projects like this more interesting since they're more close to the stuff I do myself (budget wise etc.).
I also like that with cars like this you can really have some proper fun without being afraid of breaking it.

My plan has always been to get this car on the road within budget, otherwise i will spend a load of money on a non-genuine shell and then not have enough left over to put the car on the road and eventually it will all get sold off - I DONT WANT TO DO THAT so gonna stick to my guns, drop and engine in and drive it like i stole it
Lewis - there is a college very close to me but not sure i want to go back to college - will rather call in a favour from a mate who is a sprayer, but going to avoid that if possible as he is very busy.
