Escort cossie wheels
Hi.
Just a question. Does anyone know if the original escort cossie wheels the 16inch fit on mk6 escort? I know they are a deeper dish. Has anyone fitted to theirs? Have you got pics you could share and what adjustments did you have to make to fit them?
Cheers peeps

escort cossie wheels are 8j wide and et25 which means they stick out too far on normal escorts, and having to stretch tyres to make them fit is silly and whats more bloody dangerous as normal escorts handle shite with them on, mondeos had exactly the same look in 16" either 6.5j or the more desireable 7j width with correct escort offset of around et35-40, gti wheels are only 15"
As said you wil have to have 195 45 16 tyres on. You will have to roll the arches to if you want passengers in the back. I bought an arch roller and did them myself (I have one for sale)
As 1-PD says handling isn't the best, but saying that once you get used to them its fine. I can throw mine into corners now confidently and don't notice it anymore. Well worth the effort as I think cosies on a mk6 look awesome.
Was at ford fair yesterday and had nothing but good comments on how the wheels suited the car

So would i have to roll the inner arches on the front and back? How hard is that to do? Not much of a mercanic me.
The car is used daily as my family motor so...
Love the look on there mate. Excatly what i wanna do.
I was also asvised to put on some cyclone arches all round to stop the wheels from sticking out.
The deepness of the cossies you just cant beat.

No I just had to slightly roll the rears.
Ive go the too that does it for you dead easy.
The fronts don't catch.
They don't stick out of the arches so no need for anything else.
In my opinion mondeo alloys look nothing ike cossies like you say its all about the depth.

Nice one. Ill have a watch of that.
My only other concern is that the wheels are 225 aint they? So whats the issues if any of putting 195 tyres on. ??
P.s got any more pics?

if you put the correct size width on the alloys they will all rub so you need to fit a skinny tyres which offers no real rim protection, I have had these wheels on a rs2000 and a gti and also a frst, they look ok but are simply wrong so fit them at your own risk
That looks fresh mate. Liking it.
So apart from the kerbing issue on the wheels is there anything elses that could cause a problem??
Have you left your ride hight the same or has that been dropped?.

Really do love the look on the mk6. When you mentioned about the arches. Is it just the outer side? Nothing need doing on the inside? And what about front?
Sorry to go on just trying to get as much advice as poss before the final decision.

Its litrally just the rear outer lip. Tke wheel off, attatch the roller and it just pushes the lip up slightly so that it doesn't catch the tyre. Takes about 5 minutes to do. Takes longer to take the wheel off
The gti and mondeo wheels defo dont have the stance as the cossie wheels.
Cos im a bit simple im double checking with the 2 cars nose to nose the one on the right is with mondeo wheels right???

I just wanna make sure i can do it all right so theres no issues once done.
Id say the one on the left is the mondies look bigger. Theres no comparison for me mondies are mondies cossies are cossies.
Mine did crack slightly but I have plans for a respray so wasn't bothered. If you heat it up first that will help

Yeah thats the one. They done well with that and thats the look id like to go for. Prehaps ill try find out who it is and ask about wheels just for another opinion. Another one cant hurt to put my mind at ease hahahah
may only be a GTi but they are now rarer than a 2wd rs2000 and prob will command a very good price is years to come and whats more parts are so much cheaper and easier to get hold of
1-PD, your telling me with the difference in getting hold of parts.
I had rs200 and what you would call simple parts to get were a nightmare.
I now have a GTi as more cost effective in all aspects and as you say iv seen more rs2000 in a bad way for sale than GTi in general. or maybe im looking in the wrong places lol

yeah i hear that mate.
Iv had a right result. picked one up 57000 miles from new with all mots to support.
not rust any where and all original apart from cat back exhaust and some black wheels which will be changed.
not as fast as my rs2000 obviously but still nice to drive i think
