recently recovered the head shield and gave it a lick of paint.


got home from work today to find my boost hoses turned up from roose.

wish all companys could be this reliable,phoned spec r again today to be told another week

 

thought id pop round to the car to bang the hoses on,one of them needs cut down about 100mm,no big deal realy,the cooler to throttle body hose has got the dump valve take off on it which hits the fuel rail and seems to dive down a mile.

 

Looking good mate. Looks like a couple of them hoses aren't a great fit? You manage to make them fit?

 

the turbo-cooler hose can be cut to make it fit,ive been and had another look at the cooler- throttle body hose after work and put the elbow back on to help gauge fit,looks like I might be able to make it work but wont know 100% until I get my throttle body back from jenvey.

 

cut down the boost hose today now fits great

at least yours starts and drives.

 

jeff fantastic build but....... please please please get rid of the mikalor clamps, they are shit!! i put them on my saph after my resto, they caused so many head aches, they just dont seal

 

really?ive not heard anyone having problems with them before now.
they are just on loose for now but ill see how they seal before removing them,thanks for the heads up mate.

I did a leak test on the intake side of the engine, my car wouldn't hold 10psi, it was shocking, swapped back to normal clamps and hay presto, to be fair they seem hit or miss, personally I wouldn't risk it, boost leaks kill things, wouldn't want you killing something after all this effort

It was mate even though it was on for a couple of minuteshow long ago did you change your user name ?ive just noticed
chris im gonna start to concentrate on the fuel system now,im just waiting for the power steering tank and the spec r tanks so I can order all the hoses and fittings in one go,would like to try and get it running this year if possible.

got my throttle body back from jenvey with a new butterfly installed.you can see here how it didn't closed fully.

new one installed:

also had a delivery from torques so I can start making up the fuel lines:

 

had a couple of hours on it today:
re-fitted the elbow and throttle body to discover my first problem,as you can see it fouled the map sensor bracket,simple solution was to re-drill new hole further up the bracket.


second problem,the throttle body had been modified before so the new throttle cable is too short,does anyone have any ideas which cable whould be more suitable.


on a good note I got one of the water return hoses done.

 

made up a couple of fuel lines today and fitted new headlights,that all lol.

 

had a delivery from pro alloy today:water cooled power steeing tank.

Glenn did you see the black 3dr on a Q plate at Croft? Ade was taking pics of it with the owner probably looking at putting it in the mag,something must be wrong if they choose that over yours.

 

Jeff yours and Mikes is the perfect feature, one of each same colour extremely custom in the level of detail

done very little today,i've bought and fitted a new alternator,i wasn't happy with the motorcraft belts I had so mike sorted me out with new gates belts

bonnet catch fitted

fitted the powder coated grill brackets and fitted the gril,(still needs the mesh put on)
