moonstone 3dr small update

I got offered loads of help and when I asked.....they were busy.
It's a good feeling though when you step back and can say you've done it ALL yourself
Print your own I've got the scans on my computer at home if you want to print your own off?

started on the hydraulic clutch today, pedal box was already off so no issues there.
first job is to remove the clutch pedal.

then cut off the pedal stop.

measure 50mm from the centre hole.

use a 8mm drill and drill right through the pedal.

but the pedals back together and fitted to the car,i marked where i needed on the bulk head and drilled a pilot hole.this is as far as i got as i need a hole cutter to cut the main hole out.
also done the steering bearing mod.

just need some more washers and lock nuts and thats another job done.

I am also intrigued on this hydraulic clutch mod, I wanna do the same to mine, but im not 100% sure how to do it.
I saw on earlier pics of what appears to be some hydraulic fitting at the back of the clutch bearing on the drive shaft. Is this part of the mod as well?
Awsome job on the restoration so far. Looks flippen brilliant. Keep on going.

yes the centre push bearing in the gearbox is part of the mod too.
if you want to do a hydraulic conversion on your car you could buy a similar kit from martin at reyland.

cheers mate, ill look into it, also how did you know where to go through the bulk head?
i found reyland thoroughly rude to talk to when i rang him about this conversion, he'd sell just the parts i need which is basically the master cylinder and a rose joint to connect it to pedal and wanted Ł160!!!

just a small update:
i was given some heat proof matting from saphcosmike(cheers mate)wich was left over from his car.mines no where near ready for this but thought id get it ready for when it is.
firstly made a template:

which resulted in this:

i know it needs some fibres trimmed around the edges but this will done before its glued to the car.
i re-fitted the abs block and brake master cylinder to check to make sure the brake lines are going to clear the clutch master cylinder, which they did after bending slightly.brake lines now ready for powdercoat.

also picked up some pwdercoated parts on friday.

I'm going to have a look at the column bush this week and have been contemplating using a bearing style fitting that was brought up in another thread on here the other month

Has anyone gone down this route as it looks more like a fix and forget option?
Cheers
