Ive just bought a 2 box system and it doesnt fit at all. just hanging the middle section on its own is a problem. not only is it jammed up against the diff and the prop, its also jammed up against the drivers side prop shaft tunnel too! i think the friday afternoon welders have had a go at it LOL

Yes and its not good!
Remember me mentioning the paint blistering that started to appear on the plastics? Well sadly the bodywork has suffered the same fate, I was hoping that the shell and panels would be fine because there was no sign of micro blistering at the time when the plastics blistered but a month on and its everywhere. I am properly gutted because the glass is now all bonded in, the 500 stripes and side mouldings are all fitted![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
This problem can only be fixed by a complete strip to bare metal and new paint![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
This does not need to turn into a Jacko bashing thread!
I have spoken with the man himself and he admits responsibility but sadly he says he just has too much paying work carry out and he can't afford to take my car for several months, tbh I'm not at all happy about the situation!
So the options as far as I can see them are:
1: Wait months (four or more) for Jacko
2: Pay someone else![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/angry.gif)
3: Do it myself
4: Sell or break the car
Number 4 is looking good right now!

I had this happen once on a brand new 3dr bare shell paintjob. Shell was painted in base coat and laquer and then left for a few months. Not a blister to be seen.
Then the shell was flatted and machine polished and then left again over winter in a garage.
When the shell was next checked tiny pin head micro blisters were found all over the car.
We had no idea why they had taken so long to appear, only theories were the heat from the polisher had expanded trapped moisture under the laquer surface which then caused the blisters after the heat had gone from the paint, or the same reason but with trapped solvent.
Solution was to flat the laquer which opened up the blisters, but as they are so small they could not really be seen, looked more like orange peel, then let it all dry out in an oven, and a good new few coats of laquer was applied to fill the blister cavities, and it was then polished while the laquer was still fresh and this cured the problem and none came back
hope that helps, could be a solution and with careful masking and lifting of window rubbers should be easy enough to do, you could even leave the stipes on and laquer over to seal them in like bike graphics are done

if he choses option 1 ill have to bare metal it again
as you can see this was done in the first place and had been done properly but as martin said i recon its down to the first layers as thats the paint that wouldnt polish and stayed pale
i bought the best possible paint but seem to have got a bad batch
once i used the manufacturer i allways use then it seemed fine
i think the first layers of paint wouldnt release the solvent properly and the other paint has trapped this and its now braking out

I would have chose that option but as I said on the phone there's no way I can wait months for this to happen, this should have been taken up with the paint manufacturer at the time.
I have found someone prepared to take this on but as you can imagine its not cheap getting someone to completely strip the body to bare metal and do the same to all the plastics.. At the end of this I will be well over Ł5k out of pocket if I go for that option. Now can you see why my head is shot?!

I hate to say this but this paint job has been well publicised from the off and it has not been good, has a refund not been offered Martin?
Surely that would be the best solution then you could have the car painted quicker and locally by the same person that repainted youre plastics.
Gutted for you mate.

such a shame the full car has turned out like this
but i have seen a good few jobs going the same way and mostly if not all of them had been bare metal resprays
i dont know if theres just moisture gets trapped between the metal and primer or what but hope u continue on with it and it works out ok , i would,nt wish this out come on anybody and no wonder you,ve lost all you motivation but its just one of these things

Get real , its a pain for Martin but theyre both out of pocket as explained above, the best solution? who for Jacko.... hows that then, if a bad paint job had to be refunded EVERY time no painters would ever get paid, unfortunate but it happens
