Chip, don't be stupid. RS500 shells are NOTHING like 3dr Cosworth Shells, which in turn are NOTHING like base model shells.

Now, you should know, RS500's were all hand made, on pluto... By 3,277 virginal lesbian doormice who, through their union, were only ever paid in used unicorn blood and the tears of Jesus H Christ himself....

No way they were made in the SAME fucking factory, using the SAME fucking dies as all the pikey, lowly, regular people owned base models... tut tut tut..... Image comparing a RS500 shell, with an utterly identical-bar-the-name-on-the-logbook 1.6L shell..... They don't even look the same!

Martin i was chatting to your mate "Saturday Dave" this week at work & he mentioned you'd got your car back. Looks like you've made some good progress with it, shame to hear about the paint job but hey nice to see your getting it sorted.

carefull martin, you'll get peole asking you for a certificate of authenticity and one of them provenances to show they were made and handled and stamped and painted by approved peeps

very nice wheels though, someone should photoshop them onto a black 3 door to see what they'd look like in the flesh

funny thread this cheer'd me up dont matter what the car is or woz as long as the main aim is covered, that you have a car at the end that is good on the eye and is good to drive and makes you smile every time you drive it. and when walking away you look back and smile that makes the hard work worth while.

cant wait to see it done

I do agree, although the little paint issues have caused a set back and a little disapointment, ( i have also seen the paint/car ) im sure it will turn out spot on and just how martin wants it.

Bic, get yourself introduced on pf could be a good thing for Streamline carbon and their services. :

Small update..

The gearbox has gone for a strip, chryogenic treatment and then rebuild with all new bearings and synchros, its a std box because I dont want noise.. Hopefully the treatment will help it withstand the GT3071 grunt

Have also painted the beam and trailing arms, was going to powder coat them but to be honest they were in decent condition and their days will be numbered as soon as the new rear end is ready

No offence meant mate. Especially as you have about 567 RS500's THATS why everyone else has to build a 'fake' one. You have all the shells..... Greedy fooker
