Halal meat , you would be very surprised how much that says it is, actually isn't - i work in the industrial food industry and i can assure you it isn't always what it says on the box.

Halal is a general Islam teaching but in this case (food/livestock), it's in the preparation and slaughter of the animal for meat or extract (no pigs obv). By product is that it can't come into contact with non-Halal though yeah.

You'll see on a slaughter line for Halal meat they string up the carcass for a lot longer to drain them out fully...

 

btw as for animals rights,,, we are a nation of blood sport lovers,,,,, we invented most of them, hyde park was used for bear baiting ffs, dog fights, cock fights, womens bare knuckle boxing with weapons of choice

I agree to an extent with the intense farming methods of some animals. But on the whole there are laws in place to at least provide a minimum standard of welfare. It's just the fact that the animal suffers needlessly at slaughter for Halal meat that boils my piss......
