Donington Park Track Day 30.10.2005
Popped up to Donington Park again today for the weekly track day. Not as exotic as last week on the car front, but still good all the same.
Was nice to meet you James, glad the weather held out for us too
Hope you like some of my best shots of the day, the rest can be found on my website here: http://www.cruiseculture.net/media/t...s.php?album=64
Thanks

Glad you are feeling the 1.6L corolla.
It was fun today - I was being careful - honest shame I blew the fecker up in the afternoon - ho hum.
Would be nice to see some video clips - a chap with a nice M3 said he had some - I'd like to see red gate or coppice from the outside - I was having to use the passenger window instead of the windscreen LOL.
Some top top cars today - glad I wasn't out getting piss wet in a radical though.

I spotted the change in wheel, so assumed it was to cater for the off prior to lunch
Saw someone giving it some whelly through redgate afterwards, sounded sweet as fook

Its actually an ae92 stronger ribbed block. We just have to rebuild it stronger and better now - with some improved anti-surge for the oil and fuel systems.
A quick look at the outside of the engine only shows a weeping front crank bearing seal - no holes in the block and we cant figure out where the oil went to LOL. Water is not contaminated either by the looks of things.

I may pop up, but got a bonfire at Weston Park starting at 3, and will need to be there sharpish, so not sure if I'm going to go up yet...
If I did, would only be till about 1ish.
Will keep an eye on the weather situ

Whats going on with it, as the back looks diff to a normal golf?
And there's some sort of strut underneath engine bay too...
Went well, and I told the old man it sounded turbo'd, I was right

It's a strange concoction that car, mk2 Golf, mk4 1.8T engine and box, started off as a synchro shell (4wd) but it runs just front wheel drive, has got 305mm Brembos on the front and back
Loads of pics of it here

GVK, where do you live mate?
I swear your car looks very familiar.
I tracked the visitors to my site, and lead me back to Club GT where you posted some pics up...nice one
But anyway, went to your site, and I'm sure I've seen your car before ?
