i have also been offered a 1200 hp head thats freshly built for £1k from amt and im looking at buying that ready for when its needed.
i now have the reciept for the exhaust which totals £3k also !
the car is worth a small fortune in components so i cant loose tbh.

it was innitially worrying me but lets be honest a car like this is going to need constant attention anyways, ive just recieved a pile of history paperwork for it through the post and the last bill from tdi is over £20k !

Just hope its all that is supposed to be... things like the fuel rail not being an HKS one etc etc... where else have corners been cut? things not done right... thats what I would be worrying.
Its a wicked car and as I said wish you all the luck in the world with it! it was certainly a bargain for the money if its a good as it sounds.
you sound like you are going through it all and approaching it all in exactly the right way so far well done for that! soooo many people would just go straight out and hammer it and crash or blow it up/melt it!
get the map checked as well obviously.
ENJOY!
I love Supras! wicked plate by the way

well abit sad i know but ive just added up the receipts ive recieved so far.
this doesnt include original engine build with 3.4 stroker kit, but is the last rebuiild of it with cams, turbo, inlet and 1 piston etc. gearbox not included but everything else since may 2007 and 2000 vehicle miles cost is £44000 !
gearbox was £5k on top and stroker kit is £10k.
the more i read into it the less i worry about it breaking tbh.
i have also checked dvla mots and mileage in 2006 was 38500 miles its now 43000 miles so it really has done nothing.

Plus by the sounds of it the navigator is going to give you a lot more info anyway
Like Rick mentions, EGT is also crucial, is your sensor before or after the turbo?

basically i think the water cooling was a contribution to the turbo failer as its never had water pipes run and hence needed new turbo, injector setup probably was just hanging on at last dyno run and has since been stripped again and couldnt seal properly as seals were releaved then reused.

Car is stunning and great to see someone being cautious with it too.
I'd much rather put £28k into that then roughly the same on a new Toyota prius "special edition"!!!!!
Or even,I'm sad to say,a Cossie as I reckon you get a lot more for your money in the Toyota..........and it doesn't need welding every Mot!!!
Are you in the tuning game scooby slayer as you know your stuff?

the guy i bought the car from was not a mechanic and put all his faith in the tuners and thats where the biggest problems always begin imo, if your not mechanically minded then the best car to buy is a brand new r35 gtr and go do 11s at pod all day in a stock motor, or hack it round a track, and thats just what the guy i bought my car from has done, hes got an 09 gtr in the garage and a brand new one on order.

Obviously pays well!!!you seem to be doing well for yourself, but good on you mate, you'd have kicked yourself if you'd put your "sensible head" on,even though, you'll actually lose a lot less on that than the guy who bought the new skyline to replace it,might even gain if you keep it as mint as you are.
Interesting to see your in the heavy mechanical game, especially gear/drive related aspects as that's what we used to manufacture in the ford plant where I used to work, smaller of course but the same principles,drive/coast,meshing,slides,leadscrews and so on.
Difficult field gear manufacture,so many different variables and as you said, mega important tolerances, some parts we made had literally a 3micron tolerance!!!

That is really nice. Not usually a big fan of Supras as they often have OTT body kits on them. This looks superb.
It is going to be a tricky beast to drive with all that power and rear wheel drive. Meant to be really strong those engines.
Hope it lives up to expectations
