tdi plc in essex originally built it, but jdm fitted a new turbo, head and bottom end refresh last year done 300 miles since. owned by a 63 year old business man in cornwall, its the best chance of a 1000 hp car and im not missing it !
the gearbox and clutch alone cost Ł8000 last year !
i havnt driven it yet ive paid deposit going to check and buy saturday if all is as described. i cant wait

 

its worth more in parts is the only reason.

 

Front bumper is repulsive, as are the wheels, far too much money for the car. R32 > Supra. Every day.

 

I'll be honest, I don't think I could bring myself to spend that kind of money on a Supra, or anything jap for that matter, just not my thing.

However, I bet it will be a bloody monster!

 

have a word with Ebony4x4cossie on here; i'm sure TDI are the company he had massive problems with and i know Stavros didnt rate TDI either - just do a bit of digging before you part with 28k

when a 500 hp escos is Ł18k
that supra is Ł27k 900 hp with a Ł8000 hks stroker kit in it, its priced about right imo, and i can afford it so sod it im alive so im going to live

 

incidentally, if it has been built right i think 28k is a bargain in the scheme of things, it would cost you ALOT more than that to build one yourself

 

its a gamble mate these things always are,
ive checked around and new the parts are
engine Ł20k minimum
brakes Ł5.5k
gearbox Ł5k
diff Ł2k
clutch Ł2.5k
exhaust Ł2k
thats Ł37k and you still dont have a car to put it in !
it would cost over Ł50k to build that car, fingers crossed it holds up to some santa pod fun at 2 bar boost

 

hope u dont break the box or burn the clutch out then.. .however when this thing comes on boost ......i dont even want to think about it lol

 

get it dynod from some where else and see if it makes the same bhp

 

i dont need to go to a dyno, i can use my gtech which i have tested at santa pod and against a dd rolling road and it is accurate enough for me

i will get the map checked though for sure once ive run it in.
head has been ported to the exact same spec with same cams but better to be safe than sorry.

So has it got 700hp or 1000hp? And why would you want that much power for road use That bumper needs to go and needs a proper number plate stuck in the right place other than that its a beast.. Supras the only other jap car id have other than a R34 GTR and maybe the new GTR

thats 788 hub bhp, so around 900 bhp at 1.9 bar and 750 lbft at the flywheel

i will only run 6 - 700 bhp anyways and have a balls out setting for pod

 

Thats pretty much on my door step. paul howard is a nice chap down at jap imports he'll help you out with anything. not seen this car in the flesh but by the sounds of it a very well looked after car with no expense spared

 

Thats R34GTR money and if TDI Essex has done anything to it I would not touch it with a bargepole.

No wonder it needed another head if TDI done any head work on it Real tears.

if you see a bill for thousands from TDI half it and its what the guy should have paid...

lol its nowhere near 900 hp r34 money mate, not even remotely close to it. tdi told me themselves the owner spend 3 times the asking price just with them.

That is a nice example, these engines are better and make more power than a skyline yet even with huge power seem to be easy to drive around town if you wanted. With regards to who built the engine before any cash changes hands I would want it checked by an independent tuner and judging by a few of the supras that they have built I would say SRD are good shout. It was them that built the engine in the the black 1 that's been in redline and a few jap mags with the plate JimmyP, that in IMO is the best supra around.

 

Not trying to defend TDI (never had any personal experience with them) but not everything that came out of there was shit!

Also, Paul Howard a good bloke who knows his way around big power Jap cars, so he's a wise person to buy such a car from.
