well been working on it all weekend ive plumbed in water feed to turbo as it hadnt been done, which is naughty as shes a bb !
done a pressure test on the inlet as i had a suspicion it had a leak
my god it was leaking massivly on every injector where they enter the inlet !
so i got some new seals but it didnt help, after lots of messing about i realised i need to put more pressure on the injectors so i laved the rail spacers down.
now this stopped the air leaks but it then started to leak fuel from the top !
so i checked and the injectors were to long for the rail and the o ring was raising above the end of the sleeve in the rail. so i made some spacers for the injectors and had to add a washer to the spacers and finally after 9 hours work my inlet and fuel system is 100% leak free. it turns out the rail is not a hks just a unbranded 6 cyl rail and injectors are actually sards.
i had a quick blast up the road it is truly ridiculous tbh at 1.6 bar there is just no grip at all upto 70 ! once ive got my navigator and wideband set up im gonna give it a proper run then. so far so good though

What a car!!
Don't know if anyone else suggested it but the front bottom splitter looks like it has just been plonked on as an after thought think it would look a lot better without but your car end of the day you may like keeping it on.

anyway when i looked underneath it the discs were still pure rust on the insides, i know it was stood a year before me buying it but i did a 300 mile journey home in it. it turned out the last time the brakes were bleed up they were done from the outside only ! the brakes are virtually brand new all round just been stood a while !
i am lucky i guess that im a mechanic myself and always very cautious when in a new car, with the water pipes not routed to the turbo and massive inlet leaks it could of blown it up on the way home had i of given it some ! it makes sense as it blew the turbo last time it failed, a leaking inlet and no water feeds to a bb turbo will kill it in no time, especially at 1.9 bar.

i forgot to mention the other aswell mate, the brakes were proper soggy and felt pants now bear in mind there 380 mm 8 pots on the front they even have 4 brake pads on each wheel !

If some one with little mechanical knowledge bought it, it could quite easily have done itself alot of damage by now Would have thought a car being sold for that sort of money would have been gone over properly b4 realesing it to the customer...

all im gonna say is this mate, ive had specialist built cars before ie ,y old t4 saph, my skyline now this supra and all have been withy a few niggles that could of potentially destoyed the engine in the wrong hands !
i am still very happy Ł27k isnt alot when you look at what has gone into it, the brakes alone cost Ł6k to put it in perspective.

I think there very lucky that you bought it really , if i had (not that i have that kind of money) but if i did, it could well have ended up a total disaster an after spending that much id be back knocking on there door for sure with a less than a pleased look on my face lol.... Great car though and hopefully theres no other little hidden supprises & you can enjoy it ...

Love the vids, I still want a supra one day, much much nicer than any skyline IMHO, the engines sound SO sweet, never heard such a gorgeous straight 6 mixed in with the turbo sound track

Awesome car. No sound like a T51R either!

so how come, in my 3dr that must be aboout half the power at 400bhp, whenever it came on the boost, the rear end tried to go round the front?
that thing just had a little jiggle and gripped!
i had 235's on the back too!
i want a supra

I think I have a picture of the car from a LONG time ago if he has owned it a while.
We went to a pub meet in Bolney ? (sp) it was mental, never seen so many Japanese cars in one place except maybe TOTB, the traffic light grand prix out of the Dartford crossing was good fun
I'll dig the pictures out for you as I went in a Supra and met up with a lot of other owners.

fixed my broken breather pipework today, and figured out how to turn of the boost controller so it runs wastegate pressure only which is how i want to run it to get used to it. im gonna leave the high setting but do my own road setting on the evc.
just waiting on hks navigator to monitor afrs should be here any day now and its ready for a little test

I have a MASSIVE soft spot for these cars

Mental car, I've got love for big power Supras.
But as others have said, for such a finely tuned, high end, massive budget car that you paid fairly big money for these problems would have me shitting a brick!
Hope it all works out for you, it's a stunning car!
