Default RS2000 mk5 into XR2i

Whats involved in fitting the i4 into the fiesta. I have an engine running megajolt/bike carbs, i was going to use it in my sierra, but i have just bought a fiesta for track use.
Does it fit onto the standard 2i gearbox and mounts?
Ant advice/pics appreciated.

The block will bolt up to the gearbox, not sure about the flywheel though.

You'll def have to fabricate a new o/s/f mount.

the engine will be too tall mate, the head will poke out the bonnet so measure up before you decide which way to go

im pretty sure that the engine will go in. ive gt the 2 litre mondeo engine in my fiesta which goes straight in no probs. all i got is just using the 1600 flywhel. wont it be best to use the mondeo engine witht the carbs, i thought that the rs2000 engine wasnt that tuneable?

they are too tall to go into a mk4 escort engine bay so does that mean the fiesta's is bigger?

it will fit in without clearance issues with bonnet. i modified the car mount to accept the 2k engine mount the only problem i encountered then was the g-box needed to be lowered abit for engine to sit level. i aslo had powersteering which i wish i didnt because it would have fitted easier. i had to mod front crossmember to fit powersteering pump

igrore the cable tie on slam panel.lol
also had to move the brake servo over for the inlet an throttle to clear.

that's very surprising as i know someone who stuck it into a mk4 and had to use a vent in the bonnet to hide the fact that the corner of the head was poking thorugh

They must have fabrictaed the chain side mount incorrectly, I've seen a few MK4 escorts with the RS2K engine.

I know two had to cut away the inner frame of the bonnet slightly but one I have seen didn't.

I'll go see if I can find pictures of them.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
Well if it fits in a mk4 escort it will fit into xr2i as the pictures suggest!
Dojj, is your info on running granada hubs on my 2wd sierra using 4x4 shocks correct then?
Also will i need 4x4 t.c.a.'s as well?
I hope you know more about sierras than you do about little fezzers!

You'll need the castleated nut type sierra tcas and a 2wd anti roll bar with that set up

Also, all those engines have a slight tilt to the drivers side which appears to be lower than the middle of the engine which would explain why the bonnets don't need chopping

Yes you can do it but to be honest you will get better results from dropping a 2 litre Zetec in insetad as it's a shit load easier to fit, quite a bit lighter, and only slightly less powerfull (balanced out by weight difference) with good tuning scope.

It's one of those conversions that just seems overly complicated for no real reason at all.

the I4 has a crackin soundtrack to it cos the ports are pretty big from the factory

Hi fella, top stuff.did you build the zetec turbo yourself or just buy it complete?seems the way to go these days as it's big money to turbo the rs2k motor.should get a few quid for that I'd imagine?
