I'm just after some advise to start with, basically I have a Focus ST170 and I've been contemplating the idea of putting the engine into my XR2i Fiesta

One of the things I'm just looking at, is obviously the engine mount, I know some people have cut out the inner wing of the Focus and welded it into the fiesta. Now another thing I've been thinking about is

The ST170 engine is the Zetec engine just upgraded in places, now what I'm trying to find out is, is the block the same as the Zetec blocks that would be found in the early Mondeos (the 2.0 that just more or less drop straight into the fiesta) because if so, I was thinking of stripping it down and shopping all the ST170 parts over, meaning I won't have a problem with mounting it.

Or am I just making a mountain out of a molehill

We swapped a 1.8 Zetec with an ST170 motor in an Escort GTi and it was a total cunt. My brother had to custom fabricate a number of bits, admittedly he was determined to keep the aircon.
