Default 130ps or 105ps.?

Hi guys and thanks for the welcome.
I recently bought a mint 1992 MK5 Escort Cabriolet first registered in April 1992..
She moondust silver and on a J plate. She is the xr3i 1.8 16 valve.
All points to the 130ps version.Sticker on air intake says 130ps but that isn't a convincing way of being sure. Stickers can be changed.
has the MX75 gearbox with the need to pop up a ring to select reverse.
I first thought there was a problem with reverse and then felt like an idiot hehe when I realised I had to lift up the ring to select.
My problem is, I bought her and was told she is the 130ps version. But my understanding is that the 130 had disc brakes all round. On my cabriolet looks very like drums on the rear although I haven't taken a wheel off to confirm
Maybe only the 130 XR3i hatchbacks and not the Cabriolets had discs all round.? Any advice would be great. Thanks a bunch.
Morg.

I had a 93 1.8si 130ps Cab, with MTX75 box, that had rear discs....

I think (and I may be completely wrong?!) the main difference, engine wise is the 130's have a bigger/different throttle body and different cams?

Hi to identify if it's 105 of 130 you need go check the back of the inlet manifold if it's 130 if should have HO stamped on the inlet pipe closet to the drivers wing. Should have reAr disc brakes as well but they have an incorporated drum brake for the handbrake plus an mtx box. Also check code on ecu if it's 2fcd then it's a 105. Be aware that some 105 cars came with an mtx box and some have a bc box

Thanks guys. Can I see the "HO" stamp on the rear of the inlet without taking it off.? Is it obvious.? It has a full leather interior with wing back seats. And its not the SI model its the XR3i which I believe was only made in 1992 for less than a year and then replaced by the SI. Car was originally based in the Isle of Wight for most of its life. Just wondering if the spec may have been different.

Thanks guys. I suppose the only way to be sure is to check out the rear of the inlet to see if it says "HO"
How would I know if it has ABS.? It doesn't have a light on the dash. My previous MK5 had a yellow light that came on when the ignition was turned and the went off with a click a few seconds later. So is it possible if it doesnt have ABS then maybe drums on the rear.? Must say is there a huge difference in power between the two anyway.? She seems plenty fast for me anyway.

Thanks again 1-PD.
Will check it out...I am concerned because I have ordered a complete stock exhaust for her. She had a really loud boy racer pipe on her and at 50 yo its embarrassing hehe.
I am hoping that the parts between the 105 and 130 are interchangeable...In short..Will the exhaust I ordered for the 130 spec be ok if she turns out to be a 105.?
Thanks again.

Have been breaking these for the past couple of years. No difference in cats and exhaust so nothing to worry about. Abs was an option and to tell if you have it you will have a separate ecu type module in the scuttle tray drivers side right behind the engine and a separate block under the brake servo. All 130 cars come with rear disc and drum brake

Thanks a million guys for all your advice.
Yesterday I checked the rear of the inlet manifold and cam across " SO" so there ya go. She seems to be a 105. To be honest I wouldnt have known the difference in power. As a 105 shes quick enough for me.. Even if I had known when I looked at her she wasnt a 130 I still would have bought her. She is mint inside and out and sitting on 28 thousand miles..Spent most of her life in the Isle of Wight as far as I know. Only rust was the battery tray which has been replaced. She has the MX75 box and the full leather wing back interior.. So that little sticker on the inlet pipe duped me lol.
