its the holes in the back of em that make the difference

they make a few headphones remember

perfect for a walkman or home stereo as the sound on em are crisp and also all the parts can be replaced, ya dont just check em away

They are top quality and you won't find them for less than £80 anywhere else. I got on fine with them for DJing

oh btw i have used a in the ear headphone when i used to play in the coolbury club in tottenham as i forgot mine

also had to learn how to mux vynal with my mini disc player another night as i spilt beer on 1 of the decks and i never wated to get blamed as it sropped working

now that was a fun night, when i wad to mix parts of the mini disc that i couldnt do to the correct pitch ( as my mini dosc dont have one so had to slow the deck down to mix it ) if i couldnt get it to mix id turn the track down and do a birthday shout out to any name i could think off

used tonhave to do that with brasstooth's pleasure aswell as i could never mix that when drunk or off me face for ages

They ARE sealed!!
They are very good headphones, but not as good as the HD25 which has a better headband and wider frequency range.
Ive got a pair of HD25 (not SP as in the auction) that I brought around 1995, they got used every single week at events including getting soaking wet playing at outside illegal events in the middle of fields and they still work perfectly!
They piss all over Technics, Sony and any others that you care to mention.
They are pretty much industry standard in hundreds of studios and radio stations

Well I use them to spin with aswell and are very good

Good price, would buy another pair as mine are a few years old now, think they are slowly going, but fancy something different purely because of the wires that seem to tangle endlessley no matter how many times i straighten them

Get some HD25's they are MUCH better than the SP's cause the headphone bit cant spin round on the headband, plus as i already mentioned, the frequency range is much better

I honestly cant recommend them enough, over the years ive lent them to tons of people and theyve all gone out and brought some afterwards!
Every week when i was playing at Milwaukees id have to turn down the headphone volume when i plugged them in cause the dj before had crap ones that needed the volume to be really high so he could hear them lol
I NEVER had a problem hearing them clearly, even at Milwaukees with a 1K monitor less than a foot from the decks

As has been mentioned they are closed back

Excellent phones, got them myself, much better than the Sony MDR700

Lighter, better sound quality and the cup seals really well around your ear.

Keeps out a 20k system no bother

They only spares now tho as the cables are a pain in the ass so I bought the HD25

Are these them?

http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/d2/pag...aeffffc51b76cb

What are the differences between these and the sp's?

I was thinking about getting some cordless phones, never used any, any good?

Yes, thats the ones
Differences off the top of my head are:

Better headband that splits to make it wider
The headphone bits dont spin round on the band
Shorter cable
Wider frequency range
All parts replaceable seperately (never have to buy a complete set of headphones ever again!)

Cool, are they comfy?

They are a bit of a price. but I do get sick of my sp's just tangling them selves up And one side is starting to sound crap, either that or I have a leaking fader

Never bothered me wearing them for 3 hour sets some times!
They are very solid on your head, you can dance around like a goon while mixing and they never slide off mid mix if you get them on a tight fit!
Oh, the other difference is that one side can be swung out the way of your ear by 90 degrees forward or back. That annoyed me, but i tightened the screws up on both sides of mine so they were rock solid, never bothered me again.
Regarding price, they do look alot, but as i said, once u buy them u will never buy another pair of phones again!!
I paid about 180 quid for mine in 1997 or so and still have the same ones today. Before i brought them i went through 3 pairs of technics and 1 pair of sony, each costing well over 70 quid or so, so work out the cost over time.....

These look good, shame I can't really justify them this month being Jan and skint and all that!

Definately going to consider them tho

P.S lookin at the pic, do they have the cable running to one of the cupsnot both?

I tidied up the cables on mine when i got them are there is a fair bit of excess.
Theyve looked like this for the last 8 years or so!
(Not got any ear protectors on in the pic)
If i remember right, when new the bit where the cable splits for each side came out UNDER the clamp at the bottom of the pic, so i took it off and turned the cable round, then twisted them together to make it much neater
