Default Newbie sierra owner

So just bought myself a 1993 sierra hatchback, it has an open diff and looking to change to an lsd, just looking information in what would be best and different types, advantages and disadvantages.
it's a 2.0.dohc, was an auto but converted to manual.

As for changing the differential to LSD, that's a good move. I've heard it improves traction and handling, especially in corners.

The standard Ford lsd is a viscous unit. Plated and torsen lsds are available aftermarket, but then it gets a lot more expensive.
