Any headphone geeks out there?!!!
As above I want to treat myself to a new set of headphones and not a clue where to start. Only going to be plugging them into ipods / mp3 players, PSPs, perhaps my amp at home but thats it. Budget of up to about £30ish?? Heard that Sennheiser are the best out there for the money???? Cant really justify a set of Bose headphones.
Any advice please?!!!

If you want them so you can say you have a pair of expensive Bose headphones down the pub then they\'re the ones for you, however if you want something that sounds good there\'s plenty out there that better them for the money.

I got the Skull Kandy Full Metal Jackets (9mm version) from iHeadphones for my 1GB shuffle in the gym as the standard phones are proper shit. TBH I bought these over the CX300s purley on the looks and the fact they come in the same green as my ipod!!
They're bassy as fook but not that crystal clear, although a play with the eq improved them to a suitable level! They do look cool as fuck!!

ok here you go...
imo... of course..
sennhieser are great for the money... a little too coloured could do with a bit more 12k to make them more airy...but ver good indeed.. do not spend less than £40 on these or you will be dissapointed.
bose.. dont bother unless your a dj that likes masive bass and no detail but are a cheap alternative...
AKG.. absoultly awsome.. totaly transparent, great presence and awsome depth... and IMO the best for the money.. £50 should see you a great pair.
Sure do the best IEM (in ear monitors) designed not to fall out and give true representation.. E3's are a great starter.. cost about £25.. then all the way up to UE5's at appx £500. i have the E3's and they are amazing for a pod...
beyer dynamics are great if you like the rockier type sound.. they arnt too good at the detailed stuff, but all in all a great buy..
My suggestion would be to go to a good hi-fi shop and try some out with a cd you know very well and you like the sound of..becuse in this day and age all CD's are recored with radio play in mind and comprmise on the final quality sometimes just to make it as loud as poss...
if you find some you like... PM me and i may be able to help you with a very good price.. becuse of my job i go through them like there is no tomorow.. so i do have contacts ect..

I've got 2 sets of Bose mate. You ever used a set ? The sound quality is astounding, and far FAR superior to anything else I've used. and headphone wise you name it, I've had it. The very moment I dfirst used my first pair I said budgets permitting I'll never buy anything else.

I suggest you try a few more makes if you think they are the best you have heard
My current Beyer DT990 are doing a good job at keeping the Grado 325is packed away, which isnt bad when you consider the cost difference (£300 Grado Vs £200 Beyer).
Always fancied a pair of AKGs Lee, you rate them then? Hmmmmm
