Hey. I'm looking to get a mk1 Focus RS in the next 6 weeks or so and I found this company from Alfreton, Derbyshire who have about 20 in stock. I've been told they're not to be trusted, that the whole set up seems a bit dodgy. Anyone know much about them or recommend them? I'd rather get a bit of feedback before I make a pointless journey down to pick one.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Lots of bad stories on many car forums over the years.

That said, bad news travels faster than good news and they have been in business a while so they must sell some good cars.

Approach with upmost caution is the advice i'd give. Just make sure everything checks out 100% before you part with any cash.

Yeah that seems to be the sort of general point of people I ask. I'm sure I could get a cheaper one with lower miles privately but it has to be a standard car, thats why I gave them a look in.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take it on board.

Ive heard a few horror stories about them, but have had friends have motors from them with no issues, And they have been going for years so there must be something going for them.

1 thing to remember, you will tell the world about a shit experiance, but only tell a few of a good experiance because we all like a good moan and abit of scandal.

Go take a look, if you know what your looking at and looking for if things dont match up then you walk away, if its all good then you have an empty pocket in exchange for a new motor, Simplessss

Its a buyers market on the mk 1 Focus Rs scene.
A really good buy at the moment for a really good car.

My advice is to steer clear of the dealers and get a private sale.
As mentioned above get on the RS owners club site Focus rs for sale section.

Good luck with your sale.

They seem to specialise in Focus RS's strange they have so many you would think they would diversify abit more?

I heard mixed reports about them when i was looking for a Saph. However, made the trip from Scotland and bought a low mileage 4x4.

That was 3 years ago, and its been the most reliable Cosworth i've owned.

Go and have a look and judge the place and the cars for yourself mate.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Good Luck

Thanks for the help guys, I think I might go have a nosey. The only other thing is they're cars seem to be more expensive with more mileage than a private sale so I'll just have to offer them cash and see how low I can get them to go.

The guy that ows the place can be a little arrogant in his mannerisms, his cars are overpriced and some are, well, not as good as they could be.

On the other side of the coin, he did say to me "if theres a fault, ill fix it" and did seem to stretch a little bit further than most dealer probably would have, although if you ballance it up against the intial cost, he obviously wasnt going out of his way to give you much back.

I have been to see him 4 or 5 times over the years, never bought anything from him though and i always get the same impression when i walk away from him- wanker!

If I go to get a car from him and I get any hint of arrogance then I will tell him that he's just lost out on nearly Ł10k cash. Can't stand arrogance, especially in salesman who lets be honest can't really afford to be.

I'm not saying his cars are overpriced but if I can get a cheaper one with less miles then there no point going to him, so I may aswell try my luck and lower it.
