But what is going to happen to the 'Pollard Generation', the 'Yeah But No Buts' of this world who have no qualifications and are generally thick as fcuk, traditionally they would end up in a lot of the low paid, unskilled jobs the Poles and others are taking now.
This means... the underclass of thick fcuks will have no opportunities in a modern labour market and will have to be supported on benefit by the likes of you and me....
There is no short term gain wihout long term pain...

Bing Bong someone gets it!
It's about suppressing wages AND creating a disaffected underclass that doesn't vote, is uneducated (therefore easier to control/manipulate)
and after a few generations they'll have no chance of changing things.
As for freeing downtrodden foreign folk why haven't we done anything about Zimbabwe?
We invaded Iraq to bring 'democracy' to the masses.
Lots of sabre rattling regarding Iran at the Mo perhaps we need to
take democracy to them as well. DOH they already have a democratically
elected government!
And now the Poles... we went to war in 1939 to save the Poles yet millions
of lives and 6 years later we abandoned them to their sworn enemies the Russians.
Ultimately
It's all about one thing and one thing only MONEY and making sure those with the bulk of it keep the bulk of it.
As a footnote to the above for a slightly different version of 20th century

Britain did not go to war to save the Poles, that is a ludicrous statement. Britain went to war because if we didn't, we would have been crushed by the Nazi's and all be speaking German. What saved us is the fact we are an island. Poland was simply the first country that Germany invaded. It took the most damage and had the most loss of life. However the poles were amongst the hardest fighting troops of the war, in particular the air force pilots were second to none.
The fact is we are allies, and without each other it may have been a much worse world for us today. What saddens me is the fact that Poland was pretty much abandoned after the war, with very little aid received.

Mr peace in our time Chamberlain and his bit of paper? And when war was declared at 11.00 on the 03rd of September it was because Hm govmt
had received no undertaking from Hern Hitler that his forces would withdraw from Poland
Also, Poland was most certainly not the 1st country to be invaded by Germany.

Theres a polish woman at my work,
used to be a high school teacher in poland, but moved here for a better standard of life,
speaks really good english and is a proper laugh, and shes fit, esp for a 32year old mum of 2 shes a good worker and you dont get any complaints from the customers about her,
funny thing though, why when any foreign person comes here, the first things we learn to say in their native language is swear words/insults
already learned to say "stupid cunt" in polish
learning more from her soon

i have had my views on this subject changed recently....until jan i had never worked with any polish workers and my only experience were the ones local to me who dont work and seem to spend the day hanging about the town.most are downright rude and make no effort to speak english and there have been a few attecks on local shop staff etc who have refused to serve them alcohol out of hours so my opinion of polish was low to say the least.
In january i got headhunted to another oil company in aberdeen, imagine my dismay on the monday morning when i find out 50% of the staff are polish
To my surprise bar none they are freindly, polite, bloody hard working and most do try to learn some english (all of them know the names for the stock items they require to do jobs) and some are even keen to try and learn some of the local lingo (which im happy to help with..... ive just taught one lad to ask girls if they would like some knobrot,he thinks its a chat up line )
we had a new guy started last week, turns out hes a doctor back in poland.....how bloody bad can it be there that a doctor would want to come to aberdeen and make slings for 6 quid an hour?
So erm i think the point of that little speach was that immigrant workers aint as bad as folk seem to think, things must be pretty grim at home before they want to come here and do some of the shitty jobs they do...... some folk dont seem to think about that point

You say that... if you were getting paid Ł15 an hour to work in MacDonalds you would do the shit work.
It seems shit to us because Ł5 an hour is minimum wage here, but when your home currency is worth so much less against the Ł it means that they are coining it in and sending 'large' amounts of money home.
Its like you going to another country and getting three or four times your hourly rate, you'd put up with shit for that for a short period of time and then fook off when you'd paid off your mortgage here or whatever.

Well I work for a very well know Car Manufacturer in Crewe and I hear on the grapevine that the Poles might even be coming here, just a rumour.
I can well believe it though as Crewe is populated by 65% Poles. My misses went on the bus to work this morning and she had my lad with her. She struggled with the buggy, my lad and bags onto the bus, she turned to the bus driver and asked him for help. Apparently he looked at her gone out! So she though sod it, i'll take my time. Anyway, when she went to buy a ticket the driver didn't understand a word she said. She says that he gave a load of polish verbal diarroah that she didn't understand. What ever happened the the brits!! A polite Hello when boarding a bus, an offer of help and a nice chit chat.
I aint racist but this takes the p**s

That may be the case for a few of the thick chavs out there, but a lot of them are so crap and have so little motivation to do anything properly that I think eventually in the long run the factories requiring the cheap labour would be setup in Poland/other eastern European countries where labour is cheaper.
There are loads of easily available jobs out there working on Ł5 an hour or so if you want them, whenever I have required some temporary employment I have looked in the paper one day and started work the next. The problem for this countries unemployed is that they can't be arsed to work, not that they can't get any jobs.
So in this case I would rather to Poles come here and earn money here, spend their earnings in shops in the UK and obviously give money back to the UK in taxes.
