It's about suppressing wages AND creating a disaffected underclass that doesn't vote, is uneducated (therefore easier to control/manipulate)
and after a few generations they'll have no chance of changing things.

As for freeing downtrodden foreign folk why haven't we done anything about Zimbabwe?
We invaded Iraq to bring 'democracy' to the masses.
Lots of sabre rattling regarding Iran at the Mo perhaps we need to
take democracy to them as well. DOH they already have a democratically
elected government!

And now the Poles... we went to war in 1939 to save the Poles yet millions
of lives and 6 years later we abandoned them to their sworn enemies the Russians.

Ultimately
It's all about one thing and one thing only MONEY and making sure those with the bulk of it keep the bulk of it.
