T66 power - super unleaded / solid lifters

Mike / Mark or any other peeps in the know.
If the cell Temp sensor was put in the Airfilter to Turbo (to measure the intake temp's before the turbo)
Wouldn't that be best? as then it will correct from the true air temp.
Also Why isn't the ACT's never ploted on the data chart?

3. As above.
In my opinion, you HAVE to use an engine dyno.
However, Karl would be my third choice .

Even better,
Decide the a rough spec both side's need to follow,
Say - GT35, 2.0ltr, running 7.5 - 8.0 :1 c/r, 2.5bar boost. Shell V max Super unleaded.
Then one day place them on Harvey's dyno, and do a full power plot for both engines,
using same zorst, and setting on dyno.
Then next day do the same on Simon's dyno.
Then your'll see power plots for both engine's on both cells

Mark said hell would have to freeze over before one of his engines goes near Harvey's dyno. Can you not read
How about Harvey dyno's your new spec engine, and then Mark as stated will pay for it to go on his choice of dyno? Seems fair

So all that hassle and expense to prove what exactly? One particular band of tuner friends is 'righter' than another LOL
The internet really has a lot to answer for!
On a slightly different note, Tony's car was quick before, so christ knows what it will be like now. MORE than enough for him, I'm sure he will agree himself after he's seen what it can do at Mondello.
The question you should all be asking is, will it be enough to keep up with a little white XR2! PMSL!!!!

It should prove if all these figures are true, and no one's quoting Bu--shit figures.
And lets be fair, there's alot of them around.
May be Dave, you could make it a feature.

It won't prove anything, as whose dyno is correct to take the comparison from in the first place? Nevermind the change in pressure and temperature from one day to a next...
I know it would be interesting, but whoever gets the lower readings will then be known as the dyno that reads low. But was it the other dyno that reads high and the low one was actually correct?

This is NOT a dig at Simon or Mark, it is a factual comment. Harvey went all through this when he was developing his dyno cell at his first premises and it took a while before he got everything set up as it should be, purely because when he installed his dyno originally, it was all new to him as well.
I could have INSTANTLY bumped up the torque figures of this T66 engine, by manually over-riding the dyno cell sensor and just changing the cell temperatures to a fictionally high amount (the computer would have then increased the power / torque readings for temperature correction). I could then remove the temps from the sheet (as you can choose what parameters to display - as can be seen from what Yum's is showing) and then posted these up instead .
This would then have appeased the people screaming at the low torque figures, but would not have been an accurate representation .
I even know of one dyno operator who deliberately mounts the sensor close to the engine, to pick up the heat from this, so that it is always giving a high out-put (23°C in January ).
However, when you see a T34 making 450lbft of torque, you know something is amiss .
And just so that people know, if Harvey gave up Cossies tomorrow or was run-over or something similar (God forbid ), then it would be a toss-up between Mark and Martin who got my work - THAT is how highly I think of Mark .

If you look at Daves dyno graph it shows the correction however the one you posted does not so you are not showing the details here also and you have the balls to say my figs are optimised for output when you one doesnt show this,
You can work out the uncorrected figs by the correction factor on my graph where you cant on yours ,
But this is meaningless as working from uncorrected means nothing or we would dyno our engines in the winter and on the right baro day .

Just remember He sells Stuff just like I do and this affects sales BTW I have a workshop full of Autronic and GT turbo Escorts at the moment so I dont need to grab sales from anywere .

Sorry about the following but:
Maddevelopments: why all the fuss and why are you defending yourself and your engines like you do in this thread? maybe you DO have something to hide from us?
You are giving yourself a bad rep like that instead of just letting it go, and then letting mike be the one that´s defending himself instead
And mike: look what u have done now, SHAME on you

Dear Mr Rainbird.
I dont care what Mark says but I personally want you at my Dyno session & the cell Temps will be set to what you want, perhaps you can discuss you Knowledge with Simon, im sure hes willing to learn from an Expert like you.
Is their any other Doubter that think our figure are fudged if so just say why & Mike will take what you say when he sets up the Dyno cell.
Like I always put my car where my Mouth is , im prepared to let someone who has accused Mark of cheating see that all is fair & above board.
I trust Mike will then appologise on this Forum for totally grasping at straws to find a solution to why Marks cars produce Torque.
Rod
ps Mike, this outburst really does show, just how far you think Mark is superior to your geezer. Its so funny.

I can understand why people are questioning your engines, they seem to beat everything by miles both on figures and torque wise, BUT instead off blowing up then let your engines show what they are worth?
NOTHING beats the clock
And by the way, i HAVE read all your post

I have only writen how this looks like from the "outside", still not saying that MAD hides ANYTHING, just this "MAD CAMP" against the rest is pretty sad

When l took over the conversion from Ranj he had a GT40 have now sold that for a better turbo down the rev range. So hopefully yes once the Suspension mods are sorted.
