Why, when I'm using the exact same turbo as I am now?

It's actually 10-Oct-2006 08:13am, which is just the exact time and date the dyno sheet was PRINTED, not when it was dynoed (which was late into the hours one evening). Harvey's cooling system is mental for the dyno room, with the fans blowing on full it chills you to the bone if there is any dampness in the air outside...

Mike,

Ok. Normally dyno print outs are done at the end of a run. Unusual but accepted.

With respect, you cannot cool charge air below or near the same as
ambient air temperature with just fans.
This would break the laws of thermodynamics and physics.

Dont think air temps had been that low just yet as its not quite winter yet.
Unless anyone can find a weather report for peterborough on that day.

Again, you're misunderstanding, that is the DYNO room cell temperature NOT the ACTs . The ACTS are kept at a constant 40°C for repeatability....

Mike,

Last time I looked, there wasnt a refridgerator in Harveys dyno room to
make the ambient LOWER than the outside ambient temperature.

You and I both know that the dyno room will ALWAYS be at a higher
temperature than the outside air temperature.

Just looked up the weather history for that day (and day before)...

Click this link....

Then click the drop down box (MAX TEMPERATURE) and change it to
MINIMUM temperature then click GO...

http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-b...n&PRG=klimavar

It shows a mimimum temperature of 12 deg C for that day.

Even the day before it was above 10 degrees C.....

It is indeed Dave.

We call it the "Beast" because on race fuel it made all the sixes .

T6 with a T66 made 666bhp . I think Tony should be scared

Sunny,
You should be more focussed on the spread of power and look what it still makes at 8k .

Obviously the boost could be spiked to give huge torque figures, but what gearbox would cope with that on a 4x4 ? As it is, it's stupid quick on brief mapping forrays at 1.4 bar (quick enough to get Harvey's heart rate up and a day booked at Bruntingthorpe ).

Best get on the blower to him

Your right though, anyone who gets in that car with Tony and all those 6's floating about needs to be scared! lol

Try checking the night-time temps, as this was done late at night . Also, as you should know, the lower the dyno cell temp the lower the CORRECTED figure, as the dyno cell pulls the figure back to the SAE corrected temp of XX (just looking it up now), and the higher the temp of the dyno cell, the correction figure ADDS power .

Mike,
Those temperatures are the MINIMUM for the whole 24 hour period..

Even if it was 5 degrees outside, it wouldnt be near that in the dyno cell
without a refridgeration unit no matter how many fans you have !

I think the sensor on that dyno needs a recalibration as its value is heavily
used in the BHP correction calculation.

As I said, having a lower temp than the SAE correction figure would give a HIGHER UNCORRECTED, but LOWER corrected figure, so it is not beneficial to have low temps (although I would agree that less scrupulous people can get higher readings by making the dyno cell temp appear artificially high (by putting the temp sensor close to the engine, so it picks up radiated heat), so that when corrected, the power figure is added to, not subtracted from ).

Sunny,
You'll have to add some dashes, as your version of morse code has got me totally confused

Combined with the short gearing, Tony is going to shit himself .

Rev limit is set to 8500, with the view to it being upped to 9000 when he gets used to it .

Is geared for only 177mph at 8500, so is sharp as a scalpel through the gears .

Chunk,
as you have said"good spread of power"
you have to remember that this is a road car that gets used on track!top speed doesnt interest us thats why its been geared for acceleration
Sunny,
you may not be happy with the power figure but Tony is as the request was 600 brake with a good power band and as Mike has said next year if Tony gets the hang of it 9k limit is on the cards!

Tonys itching to get the car back
