engine stripped DAMAGE FOUND
Thanks for clearing that one up Rod, that brennan character always seems to want to stir where im concerned for some reason.
Its a shame we wont ever know the power figures it was pushing for certain, not for bragging rights or anything like that, but just purely out of interest.
My own comment on the subject to Trev while i was being honest rather than being very careful with what i say like i do on here cause there are so many who will pour scorn on any power claim was:
I wouldnt ever say something like that on here normally as no doubt there will be a queue of people who have never once used nitrous properly and havent a clue about the way the jets are quoted as being "200bhp" etc actually works who would all suddenly jump on me for such a claim but fuck it, i thought i would post it anyway now as the thread has long since turned to shit anyway!

I really cant be arse to go trawling back through old threads, so if you say you dont then thats good enough for me, apologies for the remark implying this wasnt just an isolated incident, my mistake.

I was told from Cosworth yrs ago that the 200 and Rs500 blocks flex round about 580 bhp and the normal 205 blocks flexes form 400 bhp
and may be this is what happend the block flexed too much and broke.
I recon the crank is bent aswell , now looking at the pics of the block
theres no way the crank has suvived it might look ok
until it's tested and put on the balancing machine
i bent a crank by spinning a bearing on number 2 main gernal
Rod
Best of luck with the rebuild

As i would have thought even on standard power they would flex a bit.
And the crank certainly would, cranks are big springs really!
Shame about the lump Rod but i'm guessing at the level it was at it was just a matter of time especialy whilst still under development
As for the rest of this thread 'same old shite different day' ever so tedious and boring but expected unfortunatly
