Default cossie won't start....Have fuel and spark....confused!

Ok, posted about this the other day, but since then I have checked everything I can think of and thought i'd post up another thread with all my findings so hopefully someone can shed some light on what could be wrong.
Basically I took the car out of the garage, drove it 10ft, did some urelated work to the car, never even opened the bonnet, then, when i came to put it back in the garage it wouldn't start.
I have taken the plugs out and cranked the car over, there is a spark to all 4 plugs (which are new).
Checked & cleaned the CPS (also new), checked all under bonnet wiring for any obvious things, i.e. phase sensor, ignition amp, coolant etc.
Also when cranking it over i took a multimeter to the injector wire and that is getting voltage so they must be working.
Also took off the return to tank and fuel is coing out there wen i turn it over!
Only thing to note is that someone thought it was a good idea to get a +ve feed for the fuel pump off of the back lights, so that's where it gets fuel from, but i have tested the orignal wire and there was +12v going to it before all this happened.

I know with some cars that if you drive them a very short distance there will be way too much fuel in the engine for them to start again, my Primera GT does this.

In the past I have removed the fuel pump fuse, turned it over until it started and died, then put the fuse back in, primed the fuel pump a few times, then started on the button.

Its something that might be worth trying as its the only thing I can think of, if you've got fuel and spark it should start, providing timing hasn't been touched.

put some new plugs in - even some old ones that were working but that you have replaced. some plugs are useless after they have been flooded with fuel and you can spend hours looking for faults elsewhere.

My car also floods occassionaly so well worth looking at - I usually remove the plugs and let the engine vent overnight. I usually put some tissue over it loosley just in case of crap getting in too.

Some CPS have been known to fail from new, but you have a good spark??

The only other possible thought is a leaky injector. These cause a hydraulic effect that is a bit like the timing shifting slightly when you try and start the car. This was my mates problem and it took ages to work out.

Had this with my old escort zetec, someone on here said if you just start it and drive it a v short distance like that (like i did too) then the tappets can pump out or something? Anyone short story was I just had to keep cranking it and it fired up in the end

It should not flood period if set up correctly.
When you checked the injector feed, was this LIVE or the pulsed ecu negative feed ?
Checking live only is no good, if the injectors are not being pulsed by the ecu.

Hmmm don't entirely understand the difference TBH.... From what i saw i think it was live as it was +12V, how easy is it to see the pulsed -ve feed???? I'm in Norway for a week with work so atleast i know it won't be flooded by the time i get back! And it also gives me time to figure out what to do with it.

The best thing is a NOID light, as that is specifically for the job, failing that get a test LIGHT of about 2 watts, connect wire to battery LIVE and the other end on the neg terminal in the plug.
The reason I say light is because it may be too fast a pulse for the digi metre to read.
