Default St170 Problems!! PLEASE HELP :(

HI

Today i crashed my car and my pride and joy in the snow which is an ST170 and luckly i got away with minimal damage, the worst problem is my sump is now leaking.

Can someone help by telling me what sump pans will fit the st170? for example would a 2.0l sump pans fit the s170? Or even any other sump pans?

Thanks

Lee

Any 'Blacktop' (6/98>) Zetec-E sump will fit, including a Mondeo one.....However....

With a genuine Ford Mondeo one, the gap the cat fits into is a bit narrower, so you might need to tune the heatshield. Also its marginally shallower so you need to use a Mondeo oil pick up pipe.

There are quite a few suppliers of 'pattern' Focus sumps now. The price is 1/3 to 1/2 the Ford price.

Unlucky mate, the main difference between the regular 2.0 Focus and the ST is the head, so the sump should fit fine

Yeah drop the exhaust down a bit, drain out the oil, then undo the bolts and it should come off, might need a tap to get it to shift. Don't forget to clean up the mating surfaces and fit a new gasket when you refit it!

Think you'll need to drop the cat/decat completely from my experience.

Unfortunately it will take a bit more than a tap to break the pan from the lower crankcase. There's no gasket, it's sealed with silicon gasket compound. Usually its a Stanley knife -> careful chisel use to break the joint.....
