Sounds like fun

I once had a trapped nerve in my arse lol, hurt like fuck, and ached if I sat down for longer than 5mins. That was a right pain in the arse!

Was it a muscle tear (ripping) or a tendon tear (twang) ?

I've become a bit of an expert on it recently as 3 weeks back or so I ripped my chest muscle. My bruising was quite extensive, covered the top half of my body on that side, down that arm, down the side of my stomach and lastly onto my knob and swingers!

If its definately a muscle tear the swelling wont go down for weeks. The doc and Physio I've seen both reckoned about 4-5 weeks! My bruising has faded massively now after 3 weeks. Just rest up and go get some professional advice!

Good luck with it and as said, take a week or so off the gym then get back into training your upper body.

It wasn't as painful as you'd imagine. The initial tear was relatively painless, more discomfort than pain, just odd as you hear it. For a week or so after though it was a bit tender but three weeks on it only hurts if I really stretch the muscle. Something that the physio has told me to do, along as massaging it. The above pic was about 4-5 days after it happened and it got worse. That is the latest pic I have added to PB though.

No op as its only muscle and the success rate of stitching muscles back together is about 50% (I think they said) so its rest rest rest. I've been off the gym since it happened and lost 10lbs or so. They operate if its the tendon which is why I mentioned to the OP to go seek some professional advice. If its tendon or a real serious tear it can also leave the muscle disfigured!

OP - GET IT LOOKED AT. However if you still have good movement in the joint it will more than likely be muscle.
