It wasn't as painful as you'd imagine. The initial tear was relatively painless, more discomfort than pain, just odd as you hear it. For a week or so after though it was a bit tender but three weeks on it only hurts if I really stretch the muscle. Something that the physio has told me to do, along as massaging it. The above pic was about 4-5 days after it happened and it got worse. That is the latest pic I have added to PB though.

No op as its only muscle and the success rate of stitching muscles back together is about 50% (I think they said) so its rest rest rest. I've been off the gym since it happened and lost 10lbs or so. They operate if its the tendon which is why I mentioned to the OP to go seek some professional advice. If its tendon or a real serious tear it can also leave the muscle disfigured!

OP - GET IT LOOKED AT. However if you still have good movement in the joint it will more than likely be muscle.
