Really dont know what one to get had xbox for years but really like the reviews for the PS4, any help would be greatfull

Im not really a proper computer geek. but what people have put on facebook with the pro's and con's of both it has to be the PS4, my PS3 is spot on with COD so if they can improve on that then well done I say .

Plus ive never owned a x-box so im a bit bias I suppose

 

The stupid drm restrictions and constant online authentication rule out xbox IMO.

Its almost as if they dont want anyone to buy it. Cant even sell games second hand? WTF where they thinking??

You can do the second hand gaming thing and i would wait till they come out and see what every has got then. The xbox has more pre orders at the moment also there will be alot more games only on xbox.

From everyone i know they want a xbox, im just going to wait for ages till its something like xbox with 20 games 60 controllers and a dildo to keep her busy all for Ł249.99!

Not siding with xbox but everyone is just slagging it off before knowing anything about it i find.

 

the 20 games only for xbox dont really bother me i only really play COD and fifa lol, i kow you can trade in games apperantly but only the dealers the say, i dont like the fact you have to connect your xbox to the net every day to be able to play games, if you dont you wont be able to play them, i just dont see how they cant warrant an extra 80 just for blu ray, which the PS3 had

 

Youre forgetting the dealers will be limited in number and the cost of second hand games if available will be higher than now. Will ruin the concept of just popping down a local second hand shop for the latest games at half price a couple months after release.

Being tied to the net for even single player offline games is fucking gay.

Only some of the gamer community use online multiplayer games.


The games "only available on XBOX" has NOTHING to do with the quality (or lack of) of the console but deals between microsoft and the game writers. Microsoft will have paid dearly for the privilege of having some top new games tied to xbox only in the hope it will draw new customers to the console.

 

I personally am gonna go for the ps4 but i'm not rushing away from my ps3!
I've always liked the relative openness of the PS3 and PS4 just continues this- i'm very biased though as the ps3 has dominated my living room since it first came out!

 

Always been Xbox for me, don't like the ps3 controller. But unsure now on the new consoles

 

Microsofts stupidity has made this an easy decision for 99% of people, the PS4 wins hands down! I have mates that wank furiously over their 360's and even they will be jumping ship to the PS4!

I'm happy to stick with my PS3 Slim for the time being as it does everything I need, plus Gran Turismo 6 will be released on it so I'll be busy on that.

I'm going to go for the Xbox one personally. I wasn't that impressed with the PS4 reveal at E3 and thought the games at the moment appear to be aimed at the younger side of the market.

Like most people I have Xbox and PS3 at the mo and to be honest my PS3 just collects dust.


I will get a PS4 but after I do a rebuild on my gaming rig.

 

Ps4 for me, microsoft has too much control over what should be your console plus all that bullshit of buying the use of the license not the game is stupid.

 

Alot of people i have spoken too who are saying xbox are saying basically it is because of the Graphics and the TV side of it and it is all voice commands, but the graphics should be no different to the PS4 and if i really want to watch TV i will turn the virgin on lol and i have the voice commands on my samsung i think and i have never used it

 

Im not a geek, but i have a ocd thing on researching things i want.lol I used to be a die hard ps fan back with ps2. Then when xbox 360 and ps3 came around, i tried both out. Much prefered xbox 360. Played on ps3 more recently and still prefer xbox. The online setup is much better,(It costs so i do expect it to be better) the controller feels better. Always found my hands ache after playing ps3 for a while. The game support for xbox was better. Any shop you go in theres always more xbox games than ps3. The games always seemed to be a bit cheaper too. Im not sure if this is down to the ps3 discs being blu ray so more costs involved or what.

Anyways down to the latest gen . I really really wanted to stick with the xbox one but they dropped a bollock in my eyes....... as someone above meantioned....they are trying to act like apple. Bit late as so many have finally wised up to the whole buy a product but its not really yours ah la apple itunes. You would of thought they can see the fall of apple because of this. Hence samsung are ripping it up now thanks to the "choice" they give you with their products. Non restrictive.

Xbox pros
Always had great support from developers. Lots of updates to fix bugs/hacks so online play is always good so expect the same with xbox one.

Family share..... You will be able to have 10 of your friends/family share your games collection via cloud.

Kinect will reconise you so will auto sign you in.

Kinect looks much improoved(if you are into that)

Great selection of games and very good exclusives, slight edge over playstaion.

The fact it does more than games is good to alot of people, shame they are pushing it as a media hub that can also play games, rather than the other way around.

contol the tv,skype and games with kinect. Looks good, just not something i would use. Bit too gimmicky for me. Im happy with my trusted tv controller.

With cloud, a load of processing will be done through this, and although you stop playing ( for example a role playing game) the world will carry on......

Smart glass will be improoved for use with xbox one.

Now for the cons........

Requires connection to the internet every 24 hours!!! if you do not allow it to connect, it becomes purely a blu ray player. NO GAMES can be played on it. even offline. COMPLETE JOKE!!

Will stop secondhand games. You can only sell a game once. For example, if you buy a game new, you can sell it/give it away once. After this the disc can no longer be used. EVER. Buying used games will basically be a no no.

The xbox one is currently due to only be released in 21 countries. Therefore if you are not part of these countrys or want to take it with you on holiday for example outside these 21 countries, the xbox is no good. Its online checking will cause it to not work as it will see you are not in a correct region.! Us forces and other armys including ours are far from impressed with this. They cant even play offline due to the 24 hour checking........ Gives them a easy decision.

The microsoft spokes people/pr have been a joke so far. some of their comments regarding their decisions to use all these drm restrictions have outraged hundreds,causing loads of die hard xbox fans jump ship. Microsoft are doing a great job in selling loads of ps4 units.

Kinect HAS TO BE CONNECTED at all times. People are worried it can be watching you at all times. Its causing a nightmare for their pr. especially as there has been a big thing regarding us government snooping on people using these methods in the us. I personally worry about hackers getting into this....can you imagine the possiblities for crooks........

Microsoft are forcing kinect onto you so you will have to shout and wave at the tv wether you want to or not.

The price. At Ł430 its a fair bit more expensive than ps,granted it comes with the kinect, but you have no choice!

 

Ps4 pros

No Drm restrictions. They will follow the exact measures the ps3 follows . Publishers "Can" put certain measures in place like ea do with online passes but you can still do as you wish with YOUR GAME!!! wooohooooo lol

Ps4 has almost 50% more power although you will only see this on their own exclusive games. developers wont put extra time in on the ps4 version to get it looking better as this will cost more money for them when they wont get extra back in return, therefore will look similar to the xbox(same sort of thing as now with the xbox 360 /ps3

The price! Is cheaper than the xbox by about Ł80. Does not force kinect on you and vows to be a GAMES CONSOLE.

Does not require internet to play......

Some good exclusive games.

Couple of good social features.

Consoles and games are region free. You can buy games from the usa and play them on your uk console. Great

Not a lot to be honest.

Will now be charged to play multiplayer games, although i cant see this being a problem if it provides a service of xbox live qualities...... Plus they will give you FREE games every month! never a bad thing.

Games dont seem to be quite as good selection as xbox. This can change though in time.

 

Like ive said, i was a big xbox fan and have tried to convince myself the xbox one is still a good machine.......but in reality its not. Especially compared to ps4. If it didnt have all the drm restrictions they would have ripped ps4 apart. I understand they need some of these in place for things like the family sharing to work, but its just one step too far. If they decide to shut down servers for certain games in 3 years..... then thats it. Your game is GONE! No more retro gaming in years to come then lol. Unless you want to re buy it on the next consoles.........see where they are going with this.......

I only really play battlefield, cod and fifa which is released on both consoles. Therefore ps4 is perfect for me. Hense ive gone to the darkside too........... and know my games are mine. And if i want to take my console ANYWHERE i can.

I pre ordered my ps4 and cant wait.

Ive ordered a ps4 as i like the spec over the xbox plus with them upgrading the psn it should be better ! But i am just in the middles of sorting a gaming PC as i hope that will be better

i now believe it is........now the xbox does far more than the ps4.

THe only thing is you will lose a couple of them good things like sharing with 10 friends which was a really cool idea.

Game are having twice as much traded in as they are selling the girl told me whilst trading mine in. Still got Ł280 for trading it back in, which almost pays for my PS4!

For now they are...... But pretty much everytime I go on line there is always a few of my friends doing something other than playing games so I see where Microsoft are coming from. Personally I only play games on mine and watch the odd DVD on it since my DVD player fucked up.

 

That's true, but xbox does also have a better line up of games and loads of exclusive content out of the gates....

It really comes down to what friends have.

I still have ps4 pre ordered, but might change my mind. If I could I would get both but think I'd just end up playing xbox like I do now

 

I think I'm going xbox again. Biased as I have a 360 and love it. I thought about switching after all those restrictions but now they been lifted Im swaying to xbox again. I prefer the controller, the interface or layout on screen and some of the exclusive games look great.
