Oh dear broken drives already, wonder what Microsoft will say about this, damaged in transit ?

 

Well luckily enough my drive is fine (at the minute) really good piece of kit but the installing time of games is terrible, plus it downloads alot of content whilst installing and will "not" install a game without the net being connected !!

 

Mines been fine too, (touch wood lol) installing does take the piss a bit.

 

I just want to know why it has to be connected to install games, this was a massive thing they said was being removed, my bro's net is down and he cant even use his !

 

Because its the way games are going. They want to do away with disc's. So all you'll get on the disc is the executable to start the download. Its to encourage people to just fork out the extra £10-15 and just download it form the Mircosoft store.

 

Well its not good, they have even removed the update from the microsoft website, i could of downloaded onto a pen drive and dropped it off to him, at least he could operate it then. So if you buy the console and dont have internet does that mean these game discs wont install and play, if so what have microsft actually done then with regards to the removal of drm etc.

 

DRM would have been in the form of a CD key or digital registration etc. So once the disc is installed on your console it can only be used on your console. Thats the bit they have removed.

They removed the manual update because too many people where struggling to follow the 20 step install guide apparently. So microsoft say you can contact them directly, they will give you the patch and talk you through how to update.

So far so good with xbox one. Very cool. Kinect voice and face activation works well and is getting better the more I use it. Few simple things that im not keen on and if they gave options in the settings would make it better for me. These really are little things though. Early days yet so im sure they will add these features.

Not long for the ps4 now. I hope the consoles arrive working and they sort out the new hacking issues psn have.....

its a nightmare trying to connect to the psn, keeps coming up with failing to connect to server, managed to get into killzone multiplayer but as soon as you search it just says unable to join.

 

Took me a few attempts, would imagine it's peak now and everyone is trying to login and update at the same time

 

Got my ps4, psn appears to be struggling with demand lol. I have 100mb broadband and anything to do with psn it just timed out...

I did manage to get online for abit with ghosts and was very impressed until just now when it refused me access saying I haven't subscribed to psn live lol.

I shall try again abit later...

 

Yeah I've been trying to pay for play station plus for over 2 hours

 

been on for a hour deffo a improvement atm

 

I've been booted off battlefield 4 now twice with an error message on the PS4, anyone had the same issue?

Asks for you to report the error to PS but obviously looses your progress the second it boots you off.

Another thing that bugs me about the PS4 is the ability to play while you install on mine at least for short periods makes gameplay jittery.

In comparison I haven't played that much of the XBone but I still prefer the xbone controller!

My connection to ps4 has been fine, get online in seconds. My bb is fibre optic though so that probably helps.

Im impressed with the ps4 but the choice of games is depressing

 

When the games eventually come out it will be awesome. But at the moment more choice is needed!

Bought mine yesterday........its broke!

Cant play/view video's including those that help you to know how to use the machine. No gamer pic for me, no dash colour customisation, no pics on ANY tiles meaning cant navigate anything properly. So generally really let down but I'll take it back, throw it at them and get a refund until later. My copy of Ryse and BF4 will have to sit in the pile and be patient!

Sounds lime it hasnt updated properly. Have you tried hard resetting it and calling microsoft support?. Try a hard reset first and re update the console. If that dont work try the support.. alot of people who are having problems are managing to get free games for their problems...

 

I tried resetting a coupe times but nothin changed! I took it back to argos for a refund lol. Cant be arsed with trying to ring xbox support. Gonna just order one from Tesco, should get it mon/teus. If next one happens to go wrong ill try the support but with my luck i wont get anything free lol
