I paid £471 landed at the door. But then got hit with about £60 duty a few weeks later.
I can find out if my friend in USA is coming over soon as he often brings "personal electronic items" with him in his suit case but the raw cost is $575 plus $110 fedex and they hit you with $23.98 if you pay by paypal.
I think the gifts often get pulled at Customs.
I used prop shaft services in Feltham for the bespoke props and Pirtek for all the pipes and the guage to see the torque split in action.

Will do. For now I am trying it with a washer to prove the system will work, if it does then I will have a spacer made up just using the outline bit we need based on the plate as a template but leave out the stuff we do not need. This will be laser cut in Ally. If I get one made I will get some extras and post one out to you as they will cost me pennies.
I saw a program last night where they restored a Lola F5000 race car and it has magnesium uprights that failed a crack test on X ray, they used a foundry to cast in sand and make new moulds up so I am going to speak to them about casting a run of bellhousings based on a cut n shut one and then see where we want mods such as a spacer etc.

Just spoken to them, few grand to map my bellhousing on to Cad and then modify what I want in any way then just the cost per cast after that. If mine works well then I might have it done whilst Bara fits the close ratio kit and then I would have bellhousings to sell to recoup my cost

When i get mine done i am getting an EMTRON ECU for the cosworth engine control, they are based here in OZ, I have been told that this ECU will control the GTR gearbox as well is this correct, will it do what the ETS pro does. Or does it just control the pump like the cheep one i have bought.

[QUOTE=ossie cossie;6599073]
It is correct that Emtron can control the pump but it would need the Yaw sensors and someone with the mapping done. If you look on the ETS site it has a very complex map so unless someone can take that info and give it to the Emtron then the Emtron will only ever be as good as what you tell it to do given a certain input.

OK so am i better off getting a separate engine ECU and then get the ETS pro for the skyline box ? This was my original plan.

I think Autronic is over there too though which would / could be cheaper but to Echo what many say on here....pick the person to map the car and take their advice before buying the ECU.
I like the standalone nature of the ETS pro.

I havent found any rust at all on my Cossie pug....thanks for posting!
Today I bolted up the bell housing, all tight and it all spins just fine....I will be able to run it up in a few days and see if all is in order.

I turned over the engine today and all seemed fine. So just need to bolt the rest together and sort out my boost pipe to match the hart plenum.

Intercooler and pipe work modded now to match the hart inlet, I had to cut down the outlet of the cooler by about 3.5 inches so I packed it out with cloth before cutting it off and then after ran a bead of ally weld around the lip to help stop the boost pipe popping off, this will do until my bespoke cooler is done. Front end going back on now, I managed to pick up an original guttman grill which allows more air to the cooler.
The car should be running on Sunday and then I just have to finish the brake lines and a could of electrical jobs.

I might need a ride along mechanic like they did in the olden days!...best look out for one of those white boiler suits...although an orange one like they have in American prisons might be more suitable
Would be good to get it to Ford Fair! IT might make a few people scratch their heads until the bonnet is lifted.

That one is in lovely condition and is quite well known, it has been around for a while. I personally think they need a LOT more performance to go with the "show" and 200bhp won't really cut it anymore where as that was Cossie quick back in the day, now it is Mondeo / Golf gti quick.
Worth every penny of the £17k as it would cost MUCH more to produce one to that level.

Brakes all now plumbed and bled. One of the washer jet pumps has failed and I still need to re-wire the brake lights.
I also need to blank off two bits on the Hart inlet before I run it up.
I need to post off the turbo water pipe as the speed flow pipe end keeps falling off and do not want to risk that.

Defo, I can't wait
I just had a business meeting with chap who does auto electrics and he is going to sort out the brake light loom for me so that's another one ticked off.
Speedflow are sending me out a new hose end to solve that leak and a new genuine water pump turned up yesterday as I found a tiny leak on the seal.
I am really hoping to drive it this weekend if I can.

I had a day like yours! I finally ran it up in 2 wd. Exhaust is rubbing in 2 places, clutch slave is leaking somewhere. Water pump was leaking so I swapped in a genuine one and then shot blasted the thermostat housing before painting.
Tomorrow I will sort a few more bits.

Glad to hear it, is there much lag?
Yesterday (Thurs) I dropped the exhaust off at a local TIG welding firm so that they can make some small flats in it where it is running on the anti roll bar and on the supra diff, that will be back next week.
I have been waiting for my friend to sit in the car and pump the clutch pedal so that I can see where the hydraulic leak is coming from...that will happen today.
The car is now full of the evans waterless prep fluid but I need the exhaust on to run it up to temp before I drain it and fill with the waterless fluid. I found the water leak and fixed that.
Electical engineer will sort the brake light problem next week and then fingers crossed we are done!

Brake light problem now sorted, I managed to figure it myself. Ran the engine up again today but without the exhaust connected, I found a small oil leak but it turned out to be the oil filter had a wire trapped in the seal...that's now sorted. Dash is 90% back in the car.
Just need to solve the intermittent clutch fluid leak.

Very, my long reach spanners turned up from Motorsport Tools yesterday so I was able to nip up the connections in the centre push clutch slave cylinder, I am hoping that it is just the hydraulic hose that was not seated tighly enough. The clutch seemed lighter after so hopefully that was it....I will be able to check once the exhaust is back on.
I spoke with the tig welder yesterday and he is modding the exhaust now where it was bashing on the diff and the anti roll bar....fingers crossed for Friday to actually make it move under its own steam!

just ordered another 3 types of 11mm spanners from Motorsport tools as run out of room on the long reach, I am hoping a different set will be able to push on to the next flat just to be doubly sure the clutch Union is fully tight.

Thanks, it is a tough one as it is easy to go too boy racer / max power but the original T16 had a spoiler that made the Sierra 2 door Cossie look restrained. So far I have stuck with the little Gti one but part of me thinks I should go bigger. I do want to keep some of the "max power" identity as it was quite well known back in the day.

I got the exhaust back today, Barry at weldforce in Bordon did a brilliant job and turned it around very quickly. When he cut open the rear section a very sooty screwdriver dropped out LOL, it wasn't a snap on so cannot be Mark Sheads, I guess it was the company Mark used to make it.
I trial fitted but one of the v clamps on the down pipe was really close to bodyshell so seeing as I am nearly £1800 in to the exhaust I thought I might as well cut out a section of the lower engine bay and weld in some room, just in case.
I will finish repainting on Friday and the hopefully fit up the exhaust for the last time.
