Left the house at 8 am today and got back 7pm.
it was great to see the awesome workshop...wow, so clean and I would love those machines (and an idea how to use them)
pictures really, really do not do justice to the car, I am well impressed with it and also had a good look around Jason’s lovely WRC Fiesta...stunning.
I will go up again in 3 ish weeks.
It has been a long haul but the car is going to be worth the wait....very excited. Should be on its wheels next time.

Yes, Mark seems to have the bit between his teeth now and you can tell he is in his element when creating stuff and using his skill...he is excited. He has some good ideas for the car for some nice additional touches.

To seal the tunnel up Mark is going to make me a billet part to accept the gaitor, I bought this from a TT and I will add in one of the little LED rings under the shiny bit to come on with the lights, I have this in my TT and I can use it plus some tiny leds under the dash instead of an interior light.
The bottom plastic bit will go but it may help with the fabrication
The shiny ring will be stripped back and anodised satin black like the dash etc.

What work is left to be done?
Providing you are still getting updates and work is still happening at least its moving in the right direction, there is only so many things on the list to be done.

More panel work, exhaust, hard pipes, fit fuel tank, steering column, front cross member and finish off the welding.

Thats not the longest list i've ever heard of for a project car (my 944's probably longer)
Keep track of it and crossing stuff off so at least its still heading in the right direction, if nothing is done in a while get on his case.

I already have a 5 pot lump for the 944, the coupe I am leaning towards swapping out the 7a engine (they sound great but a bit slow off the line) so if I swap the 7a out for a v8 then that engine becomes a spare for the 944.
unless..... I put the v6 twin turbo s4 engine I have in the coupe, I already have the engine and manifolds to convert it to big single turbo
too many projects but I wanted to pick up one of these while it was offered as with most classics the only way the price is going is one way.

It was your one that re-interested me in it.
I have just done loads to it: 3.2 V6 front bumper with lower splitter, tan leather dash to match the baseball seats. Haldex 4wd controller so I can make it more rear biased, large nav screen with reverse camera, all new subframe and pre-recall bushes to sharpen the steering, replaced the engine and new clutch and flywheel, new lights, TT cupholder, new bootlid with V6 spoiler and then Boxster brakes.

Sounds amazing Toby. Also sounds like the most expensive TT out there. Perfect timing with this weather too

Yeah, it ain’t worth what I paid for it plus what I have spent but we all now about that mate don’t we? I know they are not the most loved cars but out of my 6 it is probably number 2 and we know I ain’t got number 1 right now.

My mates wife’s engine let go so he needed another car, he came and got the 205 gti, he had an interview at one of England’s top private schools for his daughter and he said that amongst the Bentleys and Ferrari’s he got the most attention.

Hi Ian, Mark is away at the moment but he promises me it will be done by Aug this yr. If we miss that deadline then I will go and get it.
TT had just gone off to a TT expert to finish the last bits for me, it was nice to have a guy pick it up at 7pm and then at 9 a.m. the next day the TT expert was messaging me with what he had done already and the car had to get from Surrey to Daventry in that time.

Dose make me laugh how people turn this thread into a non stop slate the man working on it. It’s well known he is a motorbike man and the tt bsb and things like that are unfortunately a priority with him. Toby isn’t stupid he obviously has contact with mark and is happy to wait so he gets the job done as he wants by the person he has chosen and has imagined it turning out. I’m sure he could find any old joey that will have done it in 2 weeks.

It’s an in general comment not just aimed at yourself. I’m sure the end result will be stunning which unfortunately doesn’t ever happen quickly especially if it’s a small company. And to be fair if your business is largely bike orientated showing your face at events like the tt is going to be pretty normal
