typical cvh problem, the starter motor suffers from all the heat coming off of the manifold and exhaust. Only way to sort it is to either buy or make a heat shield to protect the starter motor from all this heat. That or do what i did, take off the starter motor and re-build it, giving it a good clean up and plenty of wd. Hasnt given me any hassle since

well to be honest i just took it off the car, undid as many nuts n bolts as i could on the starter motor, wd'd everything, cleaned all the dirt off any outer and inner parts, then greased any moving objects and gave it a coat of wd for good luck. also cleaned up the connectors and again protected everything with grease.

it only does this problem when the car is hot, so it just needs to be lubed then?

yup as i said its just the heat from the exhaust and manifold that causes it, hence it only happens once the engines warm

but ive owned the car since new, and have been experiencing this problem for the last few days, so the lubrication inside the motor has gone dry, and needs re-lubricating?
