Default Ford fiesta 1.4 duratec judder/clunking

Hi all, my mrs car seems to have some kind of problem someone heeeelp. Ok here goes.. when pulling away from a cold start the car judders with a horrible clunking noise, to stop this happening you have to pull away very very lightly which isnt good qhere we live as she has to get across a main road. Once driven for a couple of minutes and come to roundabouts or traffic lights and pull away again it seems to have dissapeared but if she trys to pull away on a hill there will be a slight judder with clonk, seems like its right handside its coming from (front) this is the auto/semi auto box. Worried :-(

My wifes manual fiesta used to do exactly this, leaking slave cylinder inside the box had contaminated the clutch, new clutch kit, sorted!

It wont be the clutch as you said its an auto box ? If it is auto check the fluid level and also how many miles has the car done ?

Aren't they an automated manual? Not sure what the difference is between this, a manual and a proper auto box though...

Have also checked fluid level and alls fine, bit cheesed off as shes only just passed her test and have only had the car for a few weeks,im presuming when the guy sold me it he took it out before i arrived and got rid of the judder/clunking as it only ever does it firstly in the mornings or from hill pull aways.

Send it to your local transmission specialists I'll bet they've come across it before. We got a few gearbox specialists down our way. Could be the clutch juddering from cold
