well to be honest i just took it off the car, undid as many nuts n bolts as i could on the starter motor, wd'd everything, cleaned all the dirt off any outer and inner parts, then greased any moving objects and gave it a coat of wd for good luck. also cleaned up the connectors and again protected everything with grease.
