If you missus put normal unleaded in it and you ragged the living shit out of it, you might have blown it up. A compression test is the only real way to tell easily.

However, it might not even be related to the fuel fuck up and could be the turbo oil seals or valve stem seals (more likely the turbo). None of these things are easy to diagnose I'm afraid, especially if there wasn't a definate time that these problems started, or a big bang etc.

Well there wasn't a bang of any kind and I have given it a little stick not much but of the lights a couple of times and it only does it when of the throttle and now it's starting to do it on tick over

Well, if you knew she had put normal unleaded in it, you should be taking it easy until that fuel is well of its system. My gut feeling, if its idles OK, is that its the turbo oil seals and unrelated to the fuel that was put in.

This will not cause this problem at all as said it's something totally unrelated and it's purely coinsidence.

Another big clue of this is blue smoke oil NOT fuel, I would suspect valve stem seals possibly.

The point about the fuel is that if its been tuned for SUL and fairly close to the edge too, putting 95RON in it can and probably will cause detonation, which can result in a partially/fully melted/broken piston etc etc. So there is a possibility of it being that.

Putting the wrong fuel in it wouldn't result in fuel out of the exhaust in any case, so the oil smoke doesn't really narrow it down.

I'm still with the idea of it being the turbo and the next thing I would do is to pull the turbo intake hose off and check for play in the shaft for starters.

No harm in checking turbo as described above, I still think stem seals though as from what you said it's doing it on overrun, I would have thought if turbo it would be doing it more when driving/boosting and normally turbo is white smoke (exhaust side), blue smoke shows the oil is being burnt.

Point I was making the fact it's oil smoke shows it's nothing to do with the fuel.

Point I was making is that if the lower octane fuel had caused it detonate and blow a ring-land apart or melt a piston, then it would pass oil. This would have been caused by using the wrong fuel

However, turbo oil seal failure or valve stem seals would have nothing to do with the wrong fuel being used.

Yes I know diden't say it was either, just think this is the problem and it's just coincidence it's showed itself/been noticed at the same time as the different fuel used.
