anyone ever used them or thought about using them?!

Basically at work we've got them on the jigs we use 2 bond panels on, their used 2 direct vac piping to suction cups which hold the panels in place etc.

Thought it was worth a go as theres loads of spares so put one on my 2wd inlet manifold inplace of the pipe that goes to the regulator, and seems to be working fine!! holds fuel pressure at idle and doestn seem any different when moving!! Luckly the pipe is the same bore as the original so it fitted into the ford rubber connector that goes onto the regulator!! Prob gona have a go at map sensor too, althou the original pipe is alot thinner so not sure if it makes a difference or not?

Thoughts?!

 

The bore of the pipe isn't the problem, it will be ok, it needs to have a drop in it below the map sensor, this is due to fuel fumes, to stop them entering the map sensor.
The pipe is normal air fitting pipe and joiners on machinery, had it on the pneumatic guillotine I used to operate, kept getting ripped of by t***s hitting it with things, putting back on was dodgy, holding workpiece and putting on at same time, it slams the blade down upon reconnection so no fingers near, well it would only be a problem once I suppose!!
Good pipe and that though, well tough stuff it is.

them fittings are rated at over 150 psi i use then day in day out .

 

push in air fittings are all over truck brakes and and most other air controled components and can easy take 10bar! just as good as compression fittings

 

They also look very nice.

When u say drop in it tabs do u mean basically a u bend like the original map sensor pipe fitting has?! like the one in the pic?! guess thats why its got 2 elbow connectors on rather than straight ones?!

might be a bit of a problem then as the bore of the connector on the sensor is smaller than the pipe ive got so wont fit in it. I have got another regulator one the same but obviously their straight not and elbow joint, and obviously the map sensor is a push on connection so cant screw an elbow fitting into it doh!!

yea i know mate cheers, unfortunatly we just have the 1 size on the jigs at work lol, gonna have a look at the ones on there anyway, might be able to push them in with a bit of force!!

 

if u talk too someone like g and r hydraulics u can get them in 2mm 4mm 6mm 8mm 10mm 12mm and so on very cheap as well. You can get elbows straights t pieces and go from one size of pipe too anther!

 

you can also get a full range of imperial sizes too mate if needed.

 

Yes a drop like the std pipe has, so it goes past then comes back so the pipes lowest point is lower than the sensor(map) input, a loop is fine, but I have known people to screw the map sensor to the turret with the vac connection facing up, soon kills them!!
