Question Car not starting

Thought I would try here and see if any can suss it out for me

I charged my battery (again) today and my mate came round to jump start it. I hooked the battery up and it started up first time I had to check if it was in gear and it was then I stalled it

So then it wouldn't start again. Not even with my mates car hooked up to my battery aswell. It tried to fire up but just wouldn't run.

Any idea as to what it could be?

I have the battery back on charge and I need to get a can of fuel tomorrow as the gauge is reading just off of the red.

Its really cheesed me off now as it did start then it wouldn't start again btw the gearbox is shot that's why I had to check about being in gear when it first started up.

Check the basics first, ie fuel and spark, it is more than likely just coincidence that it started when your mates car was used.

That's the thing tabetha, it didn't start when my mates car was hooked up. It started on its own battery and then wouldn't start again with or without my mates help
Just put some fresh petrol in it but now the water pipes are frozen so will have to wait until they have thawed out before I can have another play

Most likely a lecky problem.
When thawed out if it doesn't start pull a lead off and check for spark, if healthy spark check for pressure at rail etc.
A quick short cut to fuelling issues I do is to check the pump actually works by 12v direct then trying.

You can hear the fuel pump working when you turn the ignition on and my mate said he could smell fuel, so hopefully that wont be a problem lol

But like said, I now need to wait until it thaws out and give it another bash
