check the fuel pressure, it may be high.

the other option is the fuelling is massivly rich, so when you shut the pump off the pressure in the line drops, so the car runs ok ish untill it runs out of fuel in the line

the feed out of your reg is the return line

what was up with the other ecu?

the red and green label L8s are exactly the same either can run closed loop depending on the chip fitted.

the rich running is your fault, its not fuel pump related at all

maybe the carbon canister,

the car will run on the 55s with a greens chip but you will not be able to use it or run it for long periods like it, as the fuelling will be miles out.

if you want a 55s chip give us a ring. we do cracking 55s packages

you dont need a lambda, but its well worth while for the price of a sensor, especialy if you are getting a new chip
