i have a mk4 escort bonus which i want to give a power increase to was thinkin normal rs turbo lump but want it to be reliable and more economical so want to fit a zetec as there cheap to but i would like some advice to go about it im good with the spanners and have done engine swaps before but never zetecs so need to know wat i need and the best way to do it any help would be great cheers

wat engine ?
gearbox?
management ?
cooling system wat parts from wat cars ?

Your better buying a complete donor car preferably pre pats then you will have pretty much everything you need

You'll have to take the steering columb cowling off and if its fitted with pats it will have a plastic transponder ring round the ignition barrel.
If i was you id try and find an early mk5 xr3i cabby as these are fitted with all the 130bhp bits

check the key. red chip in the key means its got pats.

if you get one with pats just tape the key to the ring and put it with the ecu under the dash.
