Default Why always Zetec Turbo conversion and not DOHC

I hope someone can answer my question:
Why does all people use the Ford Zetec for Turbo conversion and not the DOHC 16V from the RS2000. I mean this engine.

Im not sure but can i use some items from Turbo Zetec Conversion for a DOHC Turbo Conversion?

Sorry for my bad school english

from what ive heard the dohc engine isnt very good for tuning (if im wrong im sure someone will correct me) plus not many fords actually use this engine compared to the amount of fords that use a zetec engine, so most tuners concentrate on the zetec due to the more business it will generate, saying that there was a citrene yellow rs 2000 in fast ford a few years ago with a turbo conversion, think it cost the owner 5k to do and he said it really wasnt worth the hassle as it was std compression so could only run 7 psi of boost

hope this helps

the rs2000 engine is a good engine, pretty bullet proof.
i was going to use it in my project mk4 escort here: www.16vZetec.com
but it seams easier to put the zetec in coz of the drivers side engine mounts are very simular on the zetec and cvh.
plus it has been done loads of time before and its all ok.
the rs2000 also has bigger flywheel and clutch than rst so that would have to be modded too.
appart from that i cant see why there would be any probs.

I know that. The RS2000 is a good engine. I drive it 2,5 years in my MK4.
But now i want a little bit more power. All information about Turbo conversion can i found for the Zetec.
I found at motorsport-developments a Turbo conversion, but he didnt answer me.

have you tried here:

http://www.rs2000-16v.co.uk/

there's a lot of knowledge about I4 RS2000's over there.
The only serious proffessional effort I know of is Kenny's MSD one, that is a serious car. How did you try and contact them? I'm surprised that you got no answer - could try emailing Kenny and Stu at sales@remapping.co.uk

cheers

Have you thought about carbs or throttle bodies???

That might be an easier and cheaper route for the samish power, also the noise of some filterless 45's sound wicked in a morning. (trust me) lol
