Hi All,

I've been getting this strange knocking noise when pulling away.
It does it in first and second for a bit then completely stops.
It sounds like it's coming from the bottom of the car.

It only does it intermittently though, say one in ten times or something

Any ideas? I'm thinking prop bearing or something?

alright sir its alan black 2wd.


on your car when we had it over the pit your center bearing looked ok cus the bearing is housed in rubber and it wasnt torn or ripped. as you pulled away the other day it sounded more at the back end. i thought it was that on mine Ł68 from fords. but as you no it was the diff bearing. get it down to my work one night we will jack the back up & put it into drive & see what happens ok sir laters al.

i definatly no what you mean getting pissed off it is right they do bleed you dryŁŁŁ.

i think the black beauty is dieing a slow death at the moment n/s/f suspension top going through Ł650 . smokeing like a smoke bomb the list goes on sir but iam afraid its going to be all done in time i will get on top of it 1 day . the garage will do the headgasket for Ł100 but the head bits are mega money cus he also said that the valves may be worn the exhaust ones are approx Ł34 EACH inlet APPROX Ł6 something EACH then hydraulic lifters + guids & head set loads of money. thats enough of mine sir how is the BALISTIC MISSILE going apart from the noise.

 

hmmm you never know, it might be worth getting a recon head.. Might save you money in the long run.

Yeah its going okay apart from the clunking....it misses a bit sometimes but I'm gonna check the plug gaps when I get a chance.
Hopefully it will be like a balistic missile when I get the next engine sorted mind you if it carries raining like this there might not be a lot of point. no grip.
