s2 Gearbox
Hi guys. I have series 2 gearbox to put into my XR3i. I have a few questions tho. what do i need to do to remove the abs from it and will it affect anything also the 3i has a trip computer do i need to do anything about that with swapping boxes over?
Other than that is it fairly straight forward?

As Antony says if your car doesn't have ABS just unbolt the modulators and thats it! Would probably be worth putting in a couple of driveshaft oil seals before putting the box in for what they cost aswell
And as for your fuel computer, theres a speed sensor on the speedo cable drive, just swap that over

Im busy removing my ABS, I'll re-pipe the whole car. Looking at some threads/sites some people just by pass the modulator and keep the ABS master cylinder. Basically at the moment it goes from the master cylinder through a abs pump then to the 3 way connector on the front inner wing. Some people just fit a new pipe from the master cylinder to the 3 way connector on the wing. Not sure how effective it is though, but its hell of alot easier.

How would you do it Safe chav?
Would you use a type 23 master cylinder and pipe each wheel up?
or
Use the abs master cylinder and bypass the modulators and keep the 3 way connector and use a non abs resevoir?

I'd use a 25mm if you can find one. If not your standard one will be fine, all you need to do is run a pipe from each outlet of the master cylinder to the 2 t pieces on the chassis rails, throw the modulators in the bin/on eBay job done
As said you will need a non ABS reservoir aswell (no return lines if theres no ABS) and obviously to bleed it before someone starts picking holes lol

I think I get what you mean. The standard ABS master cylinder has 2 outlets which normally go to a pump each. Remove the pump and repipe each of the outlets to the 3 way connector.
So in theory the 3 way connector still feeds (left or right) the front and rear brake on each side.
Where as a non abs car the master cylinder has 4 outlets, 1 for each brake.
Is there a advantage of piping each wheel seperatly using a non abs master cylinder or each side from the 2 way connector using the standard master cylinder and a non abs resevoir.

You've got it spot on
The only reason the ABS cylinder has 2 outlets is because theres 2 pumps, and then its split after the pumps.
Makes absolutely no difference in terms of functionality.
