Default car smoking badly

hello i have a cossy replica fitted with a series 2 engine it was a non runner when i got it i have since got it running but its smoking badly could it be the turbo or the meter unit as it sits right under the vents and didnt have a air filter on and had water sitting on the flap

sounds like turbo seals try taking few turbo intercooler pipes off there will be lots of oil present if its turbo

done that didnt seem that bad there is a bit of play in the shaft,do you think it could be because water got into the meter unit and its coming up past the intercooler into the turbo

shouldn be that as a little water wont hurt try taking all intercooler pipes off possible clean them all out as good as possible with petrol take intercooler off and give that a good clean then run it for till gets walm give it a few blips on throttle then check pipes again for oil if there is oil present then it will most definatly be ur turbo fooked

plus if it is just a bit of water in meterin head it should clear pretty quick wi temps that it gets round turbo
