Default Duratec with MT75 4x4?

I've read that there is an adapter plate available to mate a Duratec 3.0 V6 to a MT75 gearbox, but has anyone done this with the 4x4 gearbox?

Does the sump just bolt up with the front diff or is it going to need a custom-built item?

The other engine I'm being tempted by is the Mustang V8 but the same questions would arise there.

And is it worth the effort for either of these?

I need more power...

Borrow the engine from the Phantom. That should give you enough power! plus if anyone ever tailgates you, light up the afterburner and cook them.

adapter plates can be made up if you can't get them off the shelf

loads of them mondeo st220 engines out there, but the jag x typ[e has the same engine with more power out of the box, might be worth hunting them down as they are peanuts now

Yes. Brand new shell from a warehouse in Ireland and a 1991 XR4x4 came together to make my car, first registered June 2009 with an age-related plate.

Jag S Type has slightly more power than the X due to a different inlet, and is already for inline fitment. Although it does have an unusual sump.

Yep, the S-Type is the one I thought of but don't know if the 4x4 will work with it.

Not sure if there is the width for the X-Type transverse layout.
