Peugeot 205 with 4wd cosworth engine and running gear.
The drug dealer has been tempting me with some 7075 lightweight flanges, the 4 that hold the wheel studs, I had not heard of 7075 before and it was secretly developed by the Japanese years ago and is now used for the undercarriages of aircraft, it is very light and quite resistant to corrosion whilst being as strong as steel....we will see what we can get the cost down to.
I am working on the doors today and adding some ally bar behind the hinge points and check strap as I know these will break in a gust of wind if the door is left open if not.

My Dad was in the Engineering side of ROV's etc, he worked for the Institute of Oceanographic Sciences, under National Environment Research Council on the RRS Discovery ship. They did things like the Antartic Survey
Broching is done by a stepped tool which is pressed into a bored hole to almost chisel a step into the hole to make a keyway or splines.
That's the simplest way i can explain. I done it many years ago when in engineering.
you can spark erode too I believe

7075 hubs, hard anodised
Lightened CV joints WRC style, these will also have titanium bolts too.
Hubs on the bench
Just realised that you can see my front WRC suspension strut towers in the pic too ready for the top mounts

New rear strut towers
You can just see the tiny boxes from<br/>Before, these did not leave any room for adjustment and probably were moving as the shell didn’t have much strength there before and the old cage only bolted in where the back seats would have been
Should be around 8-10 kilos lighter than a normal rear beam plus no diff fitting kit.
Dummy supra diff in the T45 cradle, I have the supra billet diff cover to go on already
Clever little mod by Mark, (nice surprise today) easy to remove the diff using just two rear and two front bolts then unbolt the prop. We have been discussing a windowed diff cover.
Floor should be welded in this week.
I have bought some FIA Carbon seats, about 7kg each, plus the seat bases. I think my old seats were about 35kg for both all plus the bases.
Still debating if I should add the Roller Barrel Individual Throttle bodies, Mark Shead and Mark Walker say that will really aid throttle response which is probably the worst part about Turbo cars in my opinion...even if the EFR makes a huge improvement over the old skool turbos.

Come on then toby you said the floor should be in this week we all love photos . It would be nice to see some updates on this as it all ready seams to be slowing up on the fabrications side . And I fort you said it was going to take about 3 months for the fab work to be done that clock must be ticking now .
Yes, Ian, I sent a very similar message to Mark earlier today, waiting for an update now. His press brake went very wrong but that has been replaced with a shiny c n c so should all be done now. I am itching to get it back.
Well I hope it does get done asap . As you have backed up mark on every thing he has done . even stepping in to get a part to France
but deep down I think your going to be yet a nuther upset customer . We all love the end product that mark makes and no one can ever take that away from him . It's just the excuses leading up to getting it is the problem .
We all all look forward to seeing the update photos soon

People on waiting for Mk to let him down end of the day you choose the person you want to do your work and you go with it. As long as it gets done so what if dead lines go over at the end of the day when it’s done the workmanship will be second to none. Cars having some serious work put into it

when are you going to forget about this Toby and get back to the more important project, that nice red 944 of yours
I like both threads tbh, always a good read. I should hopefully in the next day or so have the starting parts of the engine swap for mine

Hi, I have a quaife ATB 3.6 in the front with strengthening plate, plus I use the 2 support brackets to help support it on the block....bara said that the weak point is the crown wheel and pinion...if it breaks I will stick a 3.9 R&D in it and add drop gears to the oppliger box.
The rear is the Supra diff mounted directly in to the WRC (improved) lightweight T45 cradle. Supra diff is weir kitted with the MK cover and rebuilt by bara.
Bara checked my box and it was a bent selector fork on 4th making it pop out, he thinks it is the quick shift kit that bends 4th and recommened a different shifter OR trying some rubber bushes on the quick shift.
